But I had the GLHC Dealership Coupon sent by USPS mail for 15 Percent Off brake parts as saved $124.94. Meanwhile, other Honda Dealerships and associated Honda Parts websites you can get 10 percent to 33 percent off those Honda Parts. Unfortunately, G.L. Honda City will not reduce the price of parts with a Service coupon. As of June 11, 2025, I had asked what the Labor per Hour Rate was at G.L. Honda City which is $180 per hour. I believe it was $150 last year in 2024 or 2023, I was also informed Labor costs are increasing in the area with its other Honda Dealership competitors as by this Fall season 2025 expect it to be $200 at G.L. Honda City. I hope you are asking around in your network of family/friends to find someplace else to go than the Stealer-ship Dealer. Most people do not make $30 per hour and we know most of the money does not go to the dealership employees. I know overhead and operational costs can not justify the Service Labor Costs. It is tough for most people to pay $100 per hour/labor. To have new Rotors and Pads (Brakes) front and rear done on 2022 Honda Civic Touring cost me $1,106.22 (Parts $566.22 & Labor $540) $540/$180 labor = 3 hours to do the Brake job or 45 minutes per wheel side which an established mechanic should be able to do in 30 minutes time. Therefore, I paid for an extra hour of Labor which was unnecessary as the G.L.H.C. Stealer-ship robbed me of $180 and not discounting the parts let say 10 Percent off the Honda Mfr. MSRP as another $56.62 I could have saved. No, I do not recommend Great Lakes Honda City for anything other than maybe buying a New Vehicle providing you can pay less than MSRP or Dealer Invoice Price. The lady at the Service Desk/Receptionist, Service Rep. and Cashier person were nice. Did not get to meet the Mech/Tech who performed the tasks, then the other staff just ignored me. Note: people in their vehicles are impatient and give you looks like you had done something wrong. Also, maneuvering your vehicle such as backing up to make room to turn around, they will just move closer to you so you are unable to back up as they get in your way instead of going around you. Finding a parking spot or leaving the small lot is tough because lack of space as it is congested. People are ignorant and rude when it comes to parking. More
Recommended as a last resort. Not a good or bad dealership but they do have problems. Hard to negotiate a fair price, all Honda City/Great Lakes wanted is MSRP. Finance person is Not a good or bad dealership but they do have problems. Hard to negotiate a fair price, all Honda City/Great Lakes wanted is MSRP. Finance person is not to be trusted. Wanted Honda Service Agreement/Extended Warranty on new vehicle and he was attempting to sell 3rd Party Warranty for high cost and claim they are unable to provide Honda's Extended Warranty. I researched on the internet and found a place in Massachusetts to provide Honda's Extended Warranty for 8 years/100K miles at very good low price about $1,200 with no deductible and can go to any Honda Dealership Service Dept. nation wide. Great Lakes Honda City is not responsible or accountable for 3rd Party Warranties or other outside services as they only receive a commission selling garbage to you which you cannot get a refund. You will find yourself paying Top Dollar for a new car, so don't be swindled into other things you do not want. Accessories have an slight markup fee and labor/installation cost which is ridiculous. If you can get Student/Military Discount of $500 that will be all you get since won't budge under MSRP. They are not the Largest Honda Dealership in central New York. LaMacchia Honda in Syracuse might be as they really expanded in the last 15 years or since 2010. Honda City may have incoming vehicles on its Requisition/Invoice Listing that other Honda Dealers don't have. It is worth checking on what is available. Staff is generally pleasant but want to sell you everything under the kitchen sink. Be careful and know the cost of things prior to going to Honda City in Liverpool, NY. Don't fall for Warranty scams, Undercoating Rust Proof or Paint Protection. You can obtain a Honda Extended Service Agreement/Warranty by contacting any Honda Dealership in the USA for best price and coverage. You do not have to buy on the spot, don't be pressured into things you do not need. Avoid Markups and walk out of the dealership as they are a Bad Place. Nitrogen in the Tires is a HUGE SCAM. Say No Way, I will not pay for Nitrogen in Tires. It does nothing for the tire or performance of the car. Staff is only nice when they know they be selling the vehicle and got your money. Make Sure in Writing/ and Signed by the Manager (not sales person) when your Give a Down Deposit to Hold that It is FULLY Refundable within 48 Hours (Monday to Thursday) and 72 Hours if Weekend/Holiday is involved. They will always as for Credit Card and Social Security Number as want to do a Credit Check... you do not have to provide any information until you actually are ready to purchase the vehicle. It will be a HARD INQUIRY. If you are Financing Elsewhere DO NOT ALLOW Dealer to do Credit Check. Never Say You Are Paying In Full or In Cash/ Cashiers Check. They will never reduce cost or give you any discount. Reason: They will be losing money on Not Financing Deal. Yes! the Dealer makes money on Financing the car for you. Also, The incentives such as Student/Military Discount disappears if you do not Finance with Honda. You would think Money Talks for it does not. They want to have you pay the most possible on the vehicle. They will tell you it is a RARE or SPECIAL or Limited and HARD to Get Vehicle. That is B.S. and often not true. Do not be pressured into quick decisions. That vehicle will be there tomorrow but may not in 3 or 5 days. Don't be a fool! Use Common Sense. Service/Maintenance costs often are high as $140 - $150 Labor per hour. There is savings going to a reputable and experience Independent repair shop rather than Dealer. The problem might be availability of OE/OEM parts. We often don't like After-Market parts that Independent Repair Shops resort to. Oh! under new ownership/management is a strong indicator that previous owner likely retired and now you have people who are trying to get more from you. It's a doggy fight dog for every penny and to keep their job. Most likely your experience won't be a good as it was from the previous owner. More
My husband and I drove over a hour to test drive a couple cars. Right from the start Jon Schloegel was great. He gave us all the info on both cars as we test drove them. We weren't sure which one we wanted, and we went with what we were ok with. Over the weekend, we let Jon know that we changed our minds and Jon and his team were nothing but accommodating!! Once we came back to get the Honda Pilot, Jon went the extra mile to make sure that all of our concerns were answered! We are extremely happy with Jon and his team and we are telling everyone that we know that is looking for a car to take the drive it's worth it here! Thanks again Jon!! More

Just wanted to say that we are repeat customers and have gone back again to purchase a new vehicle. I think we have purchased 6 in the last 15 years or so from Honda City. All the staff we have dealt with o gone back again to purchase a new vehicle. I think we have purchased 6 in the last 15 years or so from Honda City. All the staff we have dealt with over the years have been courteous, helpful and taken care that we have a great experience. We worked with Elizabeth this time and can only say she went above and beyond to get us into a new vehicle. We started with Brad Townsend then Mark Walker and now we have Elizabeth. Thank you and most importantly, well done!!!! More

An appointment was scheduled and our direct contact was with Richard Ireland. Richard was wonderful to work with, extremely professional and knowledgeable. Never having a Hybird before, he immediately put my wife and I at ease and set up the vehicle for each of us individually. We left Great Lakes Honda completely satisfied with our new Honda. Bought a 2016 Nissan in April of 2024 for $14,500. In addition, we purchased the WHEELZ extended warranty. I took it to my local mechanic due to a check engine light. The vehicle has extensive rust on the underbody. $2500.00 worth of work in order to pass inspection. I took it to the dealership and they quoted me $3,000 (warranty covered $300-#250 deductable). I told them I didn't want the vehicle now because of the cost to repair...they will now only give me $5500 for trade! The vehicle depreciated 75% in 9 months (10,000 miles). They sell junk!!! Do not trust them...they will do anything to sell you a vehicle!!! Stay away!!! More

Easily the worst car buying experience I’ve ever had. Marivic was my sales person and forget the shady car dealers sales tactics, I was told numerous lies. Like bold lies. Why lie??? I was happy with the Marivic was my sales person and forget the shady car dealers sales tactics, I was told numerous lies. Like bold lies. Why lie??? I was happy with the vehicle already, I wanted it, just sell it to me. We stumbled through the buying process and I was happy with the vehicle so my attitude was whatever, all is well that ends well. 2 weeks into driving my new vehicle I started getting messages from Marivic claiming that I never paid my deposit and they were going to repo my new car. I found my deposit receipt and it had someone else’s name on it. I wasn’t going to deal with Marivic about this, whether it was an honest mistake or she was scamming me, I wanted to talk with a manager about it. It took me 9 days of leaving messages for managers Devon and Charlie before I finally got one of them on the phone. When I was finally able to explain my concerns they weren’t of any concern to them. It’s over now and I’m happy with my vehicle but very disappointed with my buying experience. More
