Granite Subaru responded

I'm very sorry to hear your vehicle needed extensive repairs. Your vehicle with over 111,000 miles was towed to us from another shop that had attempted to diagnose and repair your concern. It took extensive electrical diagnosis and time to locate the fault. As well as to replace 2 wiring harnesses's that were very labor intensive to replace. We kept you updated through the process and also spoke with the shop that previously looked at the vehicle. Again, we are very sorry that your vehicle needed extensive repairs. Moving forward I hope you do not have to deal with anything like that again and it's just routine maintenance going forward.
