The service department, especially the service advisors are completely incompetent !!!!! I had the service department order me a part to be installed at a later date -when the part arrived. Left a busine are completely incompetent !!!!! I had the service department order me a part to be installed at a later date -when the part arrived. Left a business card with my name, phone number, etc… even though the vehicle was bought at Granite and was in the computer system. Waited three weeks- I called the service department many times and left messages-but no return calls. I had to drive to the dealership to speak to someone after waiting three weeks. The part in fact had been there for at least two weeks, but no one called to say the part had arrived. Advisor said bring truck back the next day and we’ll get the part installed. Brought the truck back the next day for the part install. They called to get approval on about $3,500 worth of other work “fluids change outs, cabin filter, fuel filter, etc… it was all required to keep drivetrain warranty. I came to pick the vehicle up, but they never installed the part that was ordered and in fact was the only reason the vehicle was brought to the service department in the first place. Had to leave the vehicle there for another 3-4 days. Picked up the truck 3-4 days later and drove it back across town and the check engine light came on. Haven’t had any problems prior to bringing the vehicle into this service department. Brought vehicle back to the dealership to have them scan the codes to see what was causing the check engine light. (no one answers the phone or returns calls, so if you want to speak to someone, you might as well drive to the dealership). Advisor plugged in the scanner 4-5 code’s registered. Advisor says bring truck back next week and we will look into it further. Brought truck back the next week and dropped it off in the morning, then got a call late afternoon to come pick up the truck as they need to order a part. “We will call you when the part comes in.” Does this sound familiar? We are starting this whole process over again - no call when the part comes in, no one answers the phone or returns phone messages and more trips out to the dealership to check on the part that was ordered. Guess what— part was there for at least a week. Advisors are confused - “we don’t have anything in our system under your company name” as one of the advisor’s is holding a print out of the work to be done in the service department, I see our name on the print out and point it out to him. He says, “Oh, you are on there. Can you leave the vehicle today?” I said no problem, but I need it by the end of the day because that’s how I get home at night. He said it will be done by this afternoon, just need to switch out the ECU, unplug the old one and plug in the new one. I get a ride out to the dealer to pick up the truck at around 3:00, but it’s not done yet. Advisor says mechanic isn’t quite done, he needs another hour or so. I stop back 2 hours later, just before closing on a Friday night and it’s still not done. Two more trips out to the dealership on Saturday, still not done. I ask if I can take it and bring the truck back on Monday. Advisor says keys are on the mechanics bench but we’re not sure if he’s done with it or if it’s drivable. Vehicle ends up sitting out in two hailstorms even though there were two vacant canopy’s available 10 feet from where the truck was parked. Now it’s Monday afternoon around 3:00 - another trip to the dealership to get a status on truck. Advisor says it’s not done yet! I said will it be done today, if it will be done today, I’ll wait. He says probably not, but I’ll call you if we get it done today. The advisor calls and says truck is done and ready to be picked up. I get a ride out immediately to dealership to pick it up and get there and the service department is closed for the day. Sad thing about this situation, this all started from a service tech that couldn’t tighten a simple oil drain plug without stripping out the oil pan. Thankfully it wasn’t a Granite tech! More
Almost a year dealing with these guys’ service department. In a word: INCOMPETENT. They can perform oil changes, and that’s about it. They are a glorified Jiffy Lube that sells cars. Wan department. In a word: INCOMPETENT. They can perform oil changes, and that’s about it. They are a glorified Jiffy Lube that sells cars. Want a tire rotation? Forget it. Won’t rotate tires at prescribed Owner Manual intervals because “They are all the same tires” That’s a direct quote from service manager Eric. Warranty work needed? Go somewhere else—ANYWHERE else. 18 days to swap out a torque converter because “well, we’ve never seen this transmission before”. This is a year old, 22 GMC 3500. Retrofit mods need installs? Nope, go somewhere else! Wanted 8 hrs of labor and a week or so for parts. Had THAT job done at a different dealership and it barely took an hour after parts were in. Nice facility run by idiots. More
