Extremely disappointed in my experience with this dealership. Reached out to inquire about pricing on a RAM 1500 and spoke with Mark Phillips. Website showed dealer discounts of $12,500 plus rebate dealership. Reached out to inquire about pricing on a RAM 1500 and spoke with Mark Phillips. Website showed dealer discounts of $12,500 plus rebates of $6,500 for a total discount of $19,000. I knew that based on my zip code and owning a Ford, that I would actually qualify for $9,500 in rebates. I assumed that with their dealer discount of $12,500 and my rebates of $9,500, I would see a total discount of $22,000 on this truck. I was prepared to place a deposit and make the trip from Illinois to Texas. The first issue occurred when hours went by without a response. I had provided them with all the information on my trade, and Mark stated he would start putting numbers together. I'm sure I would get the same story you do with any dealership that they were busy, so are they stating that in today's day and age of technology, that walk-in customers are more important than internet customers??? Here you have a resident of Illinois willing to travel 800 miles to Texas to purchase a truck. You would think you would receive the same attention and courtesy as any customer. I finally had to reach back out to Mark after hours of no response. He stated that he was having a hard time coming up with the same rebates from RAM that I had stated I would receive. Not sure why that is, when this is their job and they do it on the daily. So I sent him screenshots off of RAM's website showing him the discounts. Second issue occurred when he finally calls me to talk numbers. Yes, they did finally arrive at the fact I would receive $9,500 in rebates from RAM. However, he tells me that the discount on their truck was not $12,500 and that it would be $5,000, providing me with a total discount off this truck of $14,500. He uses some excuse about having discount coupons from Chrysler/Stellantis that had expired in October. I was aware that dealers were given these coupons, but you're going to tell me that we are two weeks into November and you still have the pricing on your website that includes these "coupons"? I call bull on this one. First off, they update their pricing all the time, especially at the end of the month when new incentives come out. Second they wouldn't have placed $7,500 in coupons on this truck. They simply did not want to sell me the truck at a $22,000 discount after they found out that I qualified for $9,500 in rebates. Why, I don't know as a rebate from RAM does not impact their profitability whatsoever. If they are showing a dealer discount of $12,500, then they should honor a dealer discount of $12,500. The third issue I have, and we will see how they deal with this, is that if the pricing was incorrect and there were coupons included in the discount of this truck that expired back in October, then a reasonable person would assume that they would immediately adjust the pricing on this truck so as to not have any further issues with additional customers. As of this morning, they have not adjusted their pricing and this truck still shows a dealer discount of $12,500. This experience has proven to me how dishonest and deceptive dealers are in their pricing. When a deal doesn't turn out the way they want it to, they can easily adjust the numbers to their favor, and come up with a multitude of reasons to try and justify it. Those reasons work for the majority of uneducated customers, but they should still be ashamed of the way they conduct business. More
