Bad Alignment Costs $1500 (plus tires) I recently purchased a 2011 Subaru WRX from Grand Subaru. The salesman was very polite while putting up with my very specific questions and hesitance I recently purchased a 2011 Subaru WRX from Grand Subaru. The salesman was very polite while putting up with my very specific questions and hesitance coming from Minnesota to buy a car and also my first used car. When I got to the dealer, it was all smiles and thank you's for serving in the U.S. Air Force. I drove that far because of the ratings I saw the dealer had and because they had a great selection of WRXs at a good price. The car I bought had 35k miles on it, and aftermarket shocks. What I didn't know was that the aftermarket shocks lowered the car to the point that the wheels cannot be brought into alignment and have now shredded the tires that were on it in only 3,000 highway miles. I would have loved to talk to Damien (Used Car Sales Manager) about the issue, not only because I now have to put $1500 into a 3 year old car that is still in warranty I've had for 4 months, but also to express my concern that the service department didn't find and/or communicate the issue. I'm sure they knew of the issue simply because when I asked how much life was left in the tires, they gave me the tread depth measurement before explaining that it was about 1 year or 2 winters (winter tires, not all seasons- perfectly fine for a MN winter). But for the last 3 days he has not taken or returned my calls. The car: Overall I love the car. It is my first Subaru and I seriously question if I will buy another fun car from one of the big 3. I would highly recommend the car to anyone who likes a little fun. The dealer: Excellent care was taken to get my business, but there has been nothing to keep it. Prior to this unaddressed issue, I would have driven the 6 hours back again for another car in the future, that is how happy I was. More
No shenanigans. They sent me a below-invoice quote by email that no other dealer could match. The car they sold me was exactly as promised and they stuck with their price. 1. Received a very competitive quote from Melissa Distel, Internet Sales Manager via email. 2. Came into the dealership and found two cars in stock for the price advertised. 3. Did not like the colors of both cars so Joe D'Andrea, the Sales Manager ordered a car I wanted from a near-by Subaru Dealership. Granted, it did cost a few hundred dollars more due to certain options already installed on the vehicle. The price difference was immediately communicated up front. 4. Came in the next day and found the car waiting for me. Finished the car buying process with John Gallo, Salesman and Felix Vasquez, Business Manager. 5. Ended up paying 15% off MSRP and got a 0% loan for 36 months. Very, very satisfied customer. The process was executed flawlessly. My next car will only be purchased at Grand Subaru. More
Grand Subaru at 125 W Grand Ave, Bensenville, IL I was Grand Subaru at 125 W Grand Ave, Bensenville, IL I was very impressed with Grand Subaru (125 W Grand Ave, Bensenville, IL). I had been shopping f Grand Subaru at 125 W Grand Ave, Bensenville, IL I was very impressed with Grand Subaru (125 W Grand Ave, Bensenville, IL). I had been shopping for a pre-owned WRX Hatchback, which has become a scarce model, now having been discontinued. At Grand, I knew right away that I had come to the right place. Unlike some of the dealers, where it wasn't even possible to look at a WRX without agreeing to purchase just to be able to do a test drive, Grand felt like a very welcoming place where I would be attended to and helped. In particular, sales person Wendy Kaplan assisted me and was very agreeable to all my concerns, such as how I might be able to find a car and get it checked out by a mechanic. Since I was looking for a pre-owned car, this was a major requirement, but I was some distance from home and my customary mechanic and was unsure how I would handle this step. She said a trip to the mechanic could easily be arranged, which relieved me and made me realize that I had found the right place to shop. She also was very helpful in going over several cars and pointing out how some had been upgraded/modified for inter-coolers, etc., and told me about other particular WRX features. She was very relaxed and helpful and made my search less stressful. She was willing to go the distance to find me just the right product and was respectful of my decision to pass up a pretty good candidate because of a concern I had about a Car/Fax service record item. Even though she checked it out with her service people, who were able to explain the issue, she respected my decision. Not everyone would be understanding, in my experience. She continued to follow up and help over the next couple of days, too. In the end, as things turned out, I came across a different brand of "hot-hatch" a few days later, but I felt that, had I not found that other car, I would have continued working with Ms. Kaplan at Grand Subaru and eventually selected a car there. Our visit to Grand Subaru was a wonderful experience. When we had enough of that, we went inside and were introduced to Sandy. She was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful right from the start. She didn't try to "close the sale" as we've had happen in other dealerships. She worked with us on our trade, the actual selection of the vehicle that was best for us, and was the single point of contact throughout the process. I highly recommend Grand Subaru, Sandy Jackson, and Subaru. More

After driving many used SUV's from used car lots I came across this 2002 Blazer with low milage. As expected with a car that old there were a few cosmetic flaws but it has been two three weeks now and came across this 2002 Blazer with low milage. Would I recommend this dealer and this sales person? YES, YES, AND MORE YES. Sandy was great to deal with, friendly, courteous, and very very helpful. It took me a long time to decide because I prefer YES, YES, AND MORE YES. Sandy was great to deal with, friendly, courteous, and very very helpful. It took me a long time to decide because I prefer to deal with more local businesses. But the price made it very worthwhile to take a Megabus to Chicago, from near Iowa City, IA. I spoke with Sandy many times with questions and she was very patient with me. When I got there she was then very accommodating and attentive. I should add that everything about the car was as promised. I got the exact car I wanted. Now that I've driven the car several days I have already recommended Grand Subaru and Sandy Jackson to many of my friends. – Peter Feldstein More
After deciding that a new Forester was the car for me, I started checking with various local dealers. I was considering going through another dealer when Sandy contacted me with an amazing price. Basically, started checking with various local dealers. I was considering going through another dealer when Sandy contacted me with an amazing price. Basically, Sandy and Grand Subaru were able to sell me a Forester a trim level higher with a couple added accessories for less than the price that the other dealer was offering for a lower trim level. My new car was originally scheduled to be delivered in about four weeks, but they were able to bump up the delivery time to just about a week. Working with Sandy was great. She was friendly and easy to work with despite my sending her what must have been annoying questions nearly every day about this or that minute concern. She never gave me the hard sell that still seems so prevalent with many other dealers and both myself and my fiance felt very comfortable purchasing a new Forester from her. I wanted to play with the Nav system and make sure that some gear that I need to lug around for work would fit. Sandy arranged for me to spend some time just sitting in a Forester loaded the way I wanted mine so that I could push buttons and load gear cases in and out. This was a huge help in making my decision of what car I wanted and where to purchase it. Also, after checking around with various local and online lenders, I had secured a loan from my own bank with a really good rate. Grand Subaru was able to beat that rate through my own bank. All in all a great car buying experience for a great car and when my fiance is ready to look for a new car, Grand Subaru and Sandy will be the place we start. More
I'll start by saying this...Sandy Jackson at grand Subaru made the process of buying a new car as painless and enjoyable as possible. Having had the bad memories of purchasing my first new car and thi Subaru made the process of buying a new car as painless and enjoyable as possible. Having had the bad memories of purchasing my first new car and thinking of the horror stories others have told me, I was a little nervous to decide to go through the process again, however the sales associates at Grand Subaru seemed to take a "low pressure" approach to selling so it made me feel very at ease with every aspect of the transaction. They were willing to work with me and understood my needs and knew what I was looking for in a vehicle so they didn't try to sell me a bunch of extras that I really didn't need. They respected the fact that I was concerned with my budget so the fact that they didn't try to pressure me into anything makes it easy for me to give them four stars across the board. They're friendly and knowledgable and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. When I'm back in the market and ready to purchase again, I'd definitely go back. More
