Some people think that's weird, but I know what I like and won't settle for less. Researching my next family car, I decided to choose a Honda CR-V. White. Leather interior. 2014. But where to buy it? Last week, Glockner Honda Toyota displayed on their website a slightly used CR-V, exactly what I was looking for, at the right price. But I'm from Columbus, and was not sure about buying from an out-of-town dealership. I took a chance. Now look, we've established that I'm picky. But I'm telling you, from the moment I walked in to Glockner's, the sales staff greeted me well and treated me with respect. How often does that happen in any service business today, let alone a car dealership? Pete Saltsman knew the car I was looking for. Knew it? He had every interior instrument and mechanical component memorized, as if he had researched the car just for me. He did not pressure me; he guided me into the right decision. The car was clean, had been well cared for, and I could find nothing wrong with it, with Pete, or with the Glockner organization. So, I wanted the car. Now the hard part: I had to meet with the finance representatives, Robin Frasure and Mike Holbert. Oh boy, I thought. Here we go. To Robin and Mike, as with Pete, I was Mr. Baum. (Mr. Baum? I thought that was my dad's name.) I braced myself for the hard sell, a crazy-high interest rate, some kind of deal-stopper. It didn't happen. They answered all my questions and had the deal done within twenty minutes. TWENTY MINUTES, and I found myself on route 23 North in the best car for the money, having had the best buying experience possible -- me, the pickiest man alive. It was a good day.
