Always very friendly. Never feel any pressure, quite honest salesmen and ready to assist. This is my second Volvo car and I feel that as long as I can afford it and the exterior looks trendy, I am the honest salesmen and ready to assist. Every experience from leasing my Volvo to servicing the car has been outstanding. I am now moving out of state but will be returning for service and when ready, leasing another car. I'm afraid Hassel has car has been outstanding. I am now moving out of state but will be returning for service and when ready, leasing another car. I'm afraid Hassel has raised the standard so high that I will be disappointed with any other Volvo dealership elsewhere. More
Their business is poorly run. It is impossible to get any appointment without waiting weeks and weeks. They don't care if you have an urgent problem with the car. Do they have just One repair guy? And any appointment without waiting weeks and weeks. They don't care if you have an urgent problem with the car. Do they have just One repair guy? And they NEVER have a loaner car available - so ridiculous. I guess they have just One loaner car too. I'm sorry I ever bought a car from them. Won't make that mistake again! More
Decided to change this review after an exceptional experience with Joe Tiso today in the service department. Brought my car in for a software update. Joe was my service advisor and was the most co experience with Joe Tiso today in the service department. Brought my car in for a software update. Joe was my service advisor and was the most consummate professional. He took ownership of my issue, ensured my satisfaction, and was genuine and friendly through the entire transaction. Joe really takes pride in his job and is one of the most customer oriented people I have ever met. Additionally, his knowledge of Volvos is superb and rooted in experience. Although my last visit to Hassel was not great, Joe brought me back to become a happy customer of Hassel Volvo. Because of him, I would recommend this service department to anyone. Thanks Joe. More
I can accept the fact that a routine 30K check up is rather expensive, what is unacceptable, however, is not performing all of the service that Hassel documented. Perhaps if the service department was rather expensive, what is unacceptable, however, is not performing all of the service that Hassel documented. Perhaps if the service department was less interested in selling me a new set of tires and more focused on the requested service, I would not have been stranded with a dead battery. Even though my receipt says "battery checked", clearly it had not been checked for many months, let alone during the servicing three weeks prior. After uncovering the problem myself, the official Volvo roadside assist person has documented that the battery had not been looked at for months. This only caused me time and an additional $325 worth being serviced for a new battery at a remote location. Additionally, my 2008 s80 has had electrical issues, one which froze the system and required a tow. Subsequently, the alarm goes off randomly. Hassel said they checked out the system and there is no problem. Guess what? It still goes off. There was also an annoying console noisy vibration that I was told was also fixed (it was not). Finally, what is most annoying is that they are intent on sending out surveys and asking you to rate them "outstanding" and if your service is anything less than outstanding, then please email us. I have sent an email to all of the individuals involved more than once and it is clear that they really don't care. I will be finding a new dealer and service company. More
We recently leased our first Volvo on a whim less than a year ago (xc60). Two days ago I heard a loud popping noise which only disappeared when turning off the air in the car. Previous to this - about 1-2 year ago (xc60). Two days ago I heard a loud popping noise which only disappeared when turning off the air in the car. Previous to this - about 1-2 months prior, there was always a sour smell that came out of the air when it was turned on. My husband called - and they told him that there was no way that we could have a loaner car. So - I drove my car around for 2 days, not knowing if it would further break down - and sweltered in over 90 degree weather. When we brought in the car today - the woman told me to wait inside while she "tried" the car. She promptly came back in and said, "Are you sure it's still broken? I turned it off, then on again and the sound went away. I think it was a twig." My husband arrived and said, let me check again - lo and behold, the large bumping sounds returned when he turned on the air. I have to say - we were considering getting a second Volvo when his Mercedes lease comes up, but after this episode - we will never get another Volvo from this dealer. We don't expect to be lied to and told there are no loaner cars - when clearly there is something faulty with the car which is less than one year old. So much for the "white glove service" they tout when they lease/sell your car (and on their phone line)! More
After experiencing horrific service from a Volvo dealer in Smithtown/St.James, we were convinced we would never buy another Volvo. Inasmuch as we needed to get service on our vehicle, we decided to take t in Smithtown/St.James, we were convinced we would never buy another Volvo. Inasmuch as we needed to get service on our vehicle, we decided to take the drive from Smithtown to Glen Cove in the hope that we would find a decent service department. Our experience was excellent. We were accorded professional service from very competent people. Both Joe Tiso and Bob Glasser did everything they could to assist us with our difficulties. We are vey appreciative and want to share this with anyone seeking superior service and commpetency. More
They dO not have any courtesy and cannot diagnose problems but they know how to charge very high. They also do not back up any problems that arise but instead ignore you. Details are the ones that count! Today I picked up my XC 90 at the service department after spending over $2,700 in parts and labor. The service rep definitely did a great job to make sure all the charges 90 at the service department after spending over $2,700 in parts and labor. The service rep definitely did a great job to make sure all the charges were taking care off but he did forget that the small details are the ones that make a difference. After the charges were taking care off he got my car and handed to me the keys but I think he forgot at least to check that my car was at least wiped in the outside or even in the inside after expending that amount of money. I am 100% sure that every single car dealership after expending that amount of money will do so. I mentioned to the service manager and he offered to wash my car but I needed to wait for 10 minutes at least. I do appreciate his wiliness to do so but to start he needs to train his service representatives better regarding details and to be a little more proactive specially that my car was ready since Thursday and they knew that I was picking my car on Saturday. This will be the last time I will bring my car over to your dealer for repairs or maintenance after expending so much money and poor customer care. Very disappointed!!!! More
