George at the service desk was wonderful! I was hearing a peculiar metallic sound ... pulled into the driveway, he knew exactly what it was, “heat shield”. The service at Glanzmann Subaru is excellent and my service rep Chris@Glanzmann is outstanding. First, Glanzmann Subaru allows me to make appointments online so I can select a time that fits my schedule and reserve a loaner car. Having the loaner car not only keeps me mobile, but also allows the service department some schedule flexibility in working on the car if they discover anything unforeseen. Chris@Glanzmann is courteous, thorough, pro-active, and collaborative regarding the service. He reviewed the past, current, and upcoming maintenance and helped me revise the initial work request to maximize the work performed while my car was “out of service”. This allowed me to pull in some future planned maintenance and defer other work to keep the car in excellent condition while respecting my schedule and pocketbook. More
This issue was resolved by the dealership and a credit was given for the emission inspection cost. A new car owner should not be faced with either safety or emission inspection within the first year of purchase. First of all let me say I have been generally favorable of my experience with Glanzmann in the past. However this is a very different year with Covid. I purchased a 2020 Outback in the beginning of June 2020. It had an April (4) Inspection sticker. I drove the car about 2500 miles during the year and here at the end of April 2021 I needed inspection. I was under the understanding I would not need an emission inspection due to the low mileage but one was done and I was charged for it. The associate told me that I needed to own the car for a full year. but I was of course caught in a spot where I needed inspection, I feel this was wrong and due to Covid at the very least should have been excempted. In fact Glanzmann should have given me a 12 month exception at the time of purchase. The law states this - the vehicle is a new car, not previously titled and driven less than 5,000 miles before registration; motorists should receive an exemption sticker valid for up to 12 months upon receipt of the new car from their new car dealer. I received nothing. I also requested at the time of purchase that my inspection month match my registration month and that was not honored. If it had been I would heave been able to bring the car in and have it inspected at the one year point. So how many people has Glanzmann ripped off this year with unnecessary emission inspections? Probably mostly elderly people like myself. I tried to discuss this with the associate but it was useless. I won't rate anyone here because I don't think this is anyone's fault in particular but a policy problem with Glanzmann. They should have realized the situation they were putting me in . If there had been a one year exception I would not have needed the emission inspection. Lets face it the emission thing on any modern car is a farce anyway with less than 4% of cars failing. I was unimpressed with the service department. This is my first Subaru and first service appointment on a new vehicle. I didn't know the procedure, and walked inside. No one offered to help, nor even acknowledged me so I waited outside to see what others were doing. Once checked in, I was told my appointment would be changed to "express" service. My expectation of the word express doesn't match theirs. I waited an hour and 45 minutes for an oil change and tire rotation. They also offered a complimentary car wash which left dirty water spots all over my car, especially on the windows and mirrors. After my appointment I chose to take my car to a commercial car wash just to get all of the dirty spots off. The site required me to rate an employee. I have no idea who my technician was, but Jesse (good name) was the cashier and he was very nice. More
We are always satisfied at Glanzmann. It’s obvious that customer service is of great importance to the dealership. This is the second outback we purchased there.
