I brought in my 2023 Chevy Traverse to have a recall service completed. I was told upon drop off that this service would take a total of 10 hours to complete. I asked if a rental car would be available, service completed. I was told upon drop off that this service would take a total of 10 hours to complete. I asked if a rental car would be available, I was told yes, but not until Wednesday. I decided not to take the rental car, because of the hassle of getting transportation and juggling my kids. I dropped the car off on a Tuesday, then called to check on status on Thursday to see if I could pick it up, was told to try calling again on Friday. I called on Friday, was told to call back on Tuesday, Monday was a holiday. Called on Tuesday, told not until Wednesday. Then called on Wednesday, was told it would be ready by that evening, but later got another call saying not until Thursday. I finally got to pick up my car on Thursday. I was extremely disappointed in the time my car was unavailable, but the service rep told me he was going to have to "Eat the cost of the rental car", because of how long it took, so I had to remind him that I never even took the rental car. James researched an found the part for my Tahoe without my request. He offered the part and explained that it would be costly. The only drawback was that voice mails were very low, actually unintelligible, and the source telephone number was not Gilchrist Chevrolet. I haven't had service there, but I bought a used car that wasn't even detailed, so that wasn't good. Also they7 charged me for a coat of finish protection that likely wasn't done because they car wasn't deta wasn't even detailed, so that wasn't good. It's somewhat annoying to walk into service and stand for several minutes while one employee sits behind the counter working at what appears to be a snail's pace. After finally being acknowledged the same employee takes my keys but before going out to get my mileage, etc., he takes a quick stop to b.s. with another employee in the adjoining office. That guy (not the one who helped me) is complaining about a customer's vehicle and dropping f-bombs left and right, easily audible to the service office. Very unprofessional. I'm glad I did not have my kids with me. So my 8:00 appointment ended up taking about 30 minutes just to drop off the vehicle for an oil change. Not the best environment for your customers in my humble opinion. You asked. More
