Thank you for being a Gilchrist Auto Family Member, although we are sorry to hear that you do not enjoy our Service department. We do average 45min to an hour to ensure that we can properly complete a multi-point vehicle inspection, complete your oil change and rotate the tires. Our technicians work as quickly as possibly while ensuring proper work is being completed. While some dealerships have on site car washes and vacuum stations, we unfortunately do not. However, we do offer our service customers Brown Bear Car Wash coupons for a complimentary car wash that are valid at several local Brown Bear Car Washes. If you did not receive a coupon please come back and ask our Cashier for your coupon. We are sorry to hear that you feel this way about our efforts to repair your vehicle. Unfortunately, each Extended Service Contract (extended warranty) is independently backed by the location you purchased your vehicle. We originally diagnosed the vehicle and the engine we recommended from GM that was not fully covered by the warranty was going to be an additional cost above the plan deductible. Based on your request we went with another engine which would be fully covered by your warranty, although, still had to be authorized by the warranty company and and the original purchase place. While we strive to make all repairs in the fastest time possible, sometimes other extended service contracts can delay the process. As well, the time the authorization was approved by the original purchase location and the warranty company let us know we were okay to proceed, the GM strike had began and we were unable to get the GM parts for several weeks. We do our best to ensure proper work is completed, in a timely manner, at an affordable cost. We hope that the repairs completed are going to last for years to come.
