My relationship started good. Salesman interaction, test drives (we took out a few), Got the car early... My issue was when it came to pick it up. I explained a number of times th Salesman interaction, test drives (we took out a few), Got the car early... My issue was when it came to pick it up. I explained a number of times that I had financing in place with USAA, I had my insurance in place, I had everything that they needed to be ready. When I arrived I waited for finance to finish up with other customers (no problem there, that is expected), but I was asked multiple times "if we can match your rate would you want to put it through our lender?" My answer every time was "no thank you" I already had it in place, I didn't need it, and I wasn't offered any financial inventive to do it. Which is what I explained to everyone there a few times. I kept hearing "just do a 5 liner, just do a 5 liner". Before I was sent to finance I was presented with 3 papers that included my credit score, OFAC status, and one was probably just a FCRA form. I asked why and got 3 different answers on why they still ran my credit after multiple times asking them not to because I had financing in place. This was said in my first interaction on day 1 of the sales process, repeated when we were able to come in and test drive a car, and again multiple times on the day of the sale. At the time of the sale I asked for a discount, which I was told no (I understand supply and demand), I asked for military and was told $300 which I am thankful for. I didn't question the $5,000 "Dealer Profit" that is added to the window sticker. I wanted this to be a simple and easy transaction and it was anything but that. I understand that running my credit multiple times to purchase a car will not effect my credit score. I know a soft pull and understand what is behind it (I have worked in consumer finance for a while). What I am upset about is that it was done. After multiple times saying "No thank you" it was still done. Now the "Why"? Why was it done? to try and get me to use your financing which I declined multiple times? Share the $ with me and I would gladly use your financing. There is a big sign that says something to the effect of $1,000 for using our financing, but when I asked for it I was told no, so I again said "No Thank You". Don't tell me it's for OFAC, it wasn't for that either because I had no intentions of using your financing. Company Policy? Maybe, but I signed everything else... Prove I am who I am? thats what my ID is for. Needless to say I am almost 2 weeks into owning the vehicle which we all love. I recommend the Kia, not so much the dealership. I appreciate you taking your time to read my ramblings. I hope that you take this into consideration when looking at company policies. Had it not been for the "shadiness" of running my credit and giving me BS excuses on why it was done it would have been a great experience. I do apologize to the finance guy if I was rude, I was upset from earlier. Had my credit not been run OR if I was given a legitimate reason I would have given everyone 5 starts, thumbs up, and given praise. Instead you got 628 words and a facebook post (not naming your dealership) of how much I hate buying a car and how your dealership helped me realize how much I hate dealerships. More
Amidst the mess of construction, they still managed to have a comfortable waiting area and amiable staff. I was impressed with the timely updates on the progress of the maintenance of my car.
