Dealer fraud BEWARE Beware of dealer fraud! I purchased a Certified Preowned TLX from this dealer in August 2017 and was given a copy of the clean CarFax report (which I Beware of dealer fraud! I purchased a Certified Preowned TLX from this dealer in August 2017 and was given a copy of the clean CarFax report (which I still have) that clearly states one-owner, no accidents. Now I am looking to sell/trade to upgrade to an SUV and have since learned that there is an accident from June 2017, 2 months before I purchased the vehicle, reporting on CarFax. You pay a premium for Certified Preowned vehicles in comparison to other used cars due to the extra guarantee and warranties you receive. Certified vehicles are supposed to have undergone a “182 point inspection” and I find it hard to believe the professional who inspected the vehicle was unable to detect prior body damage/repairs due to an accident. Because of this accident on the CarFax, this vehicle is worth less than half of what I purchased it for. Gettel Acura themselves will not buy the vehicle back and I am going to have a very hard time selling it or trading it for what I owe, which would be less than the actual value had the vehicle had a clean CarFax like I was lead to believe when I purchased it. Regardless if this was an honest mistake on Gettel’s part, it is their responsibility as they certified the vehicle. I would not have purchased the vehicle had I been disclosed this information, and I especially would not have paid a premium for a “Certified Preowned” if I knew that meant absolutely nothing, and Acura would not stand behind their word. They have been made aware of the issue, but have not bothered to return our call, so I am forced to take other action. I am very disappointed, but not surprised, as this lack of response/disregard is pretty much the same experience I’ve had in every other dealing with this dealership since purchasing the vehicle. Please buy elsewhere! Lexus is very comparable in price, higher quality, and much better service. More
