Made Appointment 4 Days in Advance - Dropped off car and said that it would take 5 hours based on what their system said. Said that we would get OEM parts. Researched and our issue takes 2 - 3 hours to repa said that it would take 5 hours based on what their system said. Said that we would get OEM parts. Researched and our issue takes 2 - 3 hours to repair. Called back by the dealer 30 minutes later saying they did not have the part for the repair and could get it 5 hours later but would not be OEM part after being assured OEM parts would be used. If I can get the repair done without OEM parts in 2 hours, that is a better plan. They have lost my business. More

He never made me feel pressured, awkward, or that any of my questions were elementary. When he didnt know the answer, he didnt pretend to...he actually said so....and then sought the answer out instead of giving me a half answer. Josh was informative without being condesending. Professional without being cold and friendly without being phoney. I had just as much fun during the process of purchasing the car as I did driving it off the lot!!! And if anyone has ever bought a car...you know that's huge!!! He didnt really sell me the vehicle, I did my homework before I ever got to the dealership and only needed the test drive to confirm that I wanted the car. But Josh provided comparables for me to consider. And when I was ready to seal the deal, he made the process enjoyable and BJ made the financial end seemless. Thanks again Josh! More
after far too much time spent researching and pricing a new car i had a GREAT experience buying one and believe good business practice deserves recognition. i have NEVER left a dealer being able to say i " new car i had a GREAT experience buying one and believe good business practice deserves recognition. i have NEVER left a dealer being able to say i "enjoyed" the experience. this one was actually not only tolerable, but respectable . sure, they made money - i never leave thinking i got "such a deal"... but, i'm happy when i leave knowing i didn't get robbed and feeling i was respected and my intelligence wasn't insulted (well... they bordered once, but i caught it and gave them kudos for the effort!) Hawkinson Nissan in Matteson was the 5th dealer i went to. i'd walked out of 4 others - one in Gurnee where he couldn't believe i was willing to do that drive home in the same car i arrived in (one a day is all you can do because you're pretty much a hostage when you get there no matter WHAT you think you've done over the phone). i am beyond grateful that they were the LAST dealership i went to and they are a dealership i will refer and go back to myself indefinitely. i originally spoke with Dylan - who hung in there until the end! he was a pleasure to talk with. didn't hound me with repeated phone calls. stuck to all the promises made. AND - when i told him one of the pics looked as if the back seat leather had a couple of marks on it and asked him to check and tell me what it truly looked like before i made the drive he actually OVERPLAYED what it was because it was nothing when i got there! unfortunately, the poor guy got food poisoning and had to leave work Monday morning when I was coming in. He handed me over to Edward Brown - who i couldn't have ended up more pleased with. (and those of you who know me know that's a xxxx of a lot to be said!) i had negotiated trade-in range prior and secured price of vehicle i was buying prior. after the experiences at the 4 other dealers i went to Hawkinson Nissan fully expecting a screwing of some sort - and was actually a little curious as to what it would be. i waited - and waited - and it never came. how awesome?! Ed was tolerant of my "listen, i've been doing this for a xxxxx week and i'm fed up" attitude. he was respectful even when i was being reactive to things that hadn't happened yet (and never did). he got me above what i expected on my trade-in. they stuck to the agreed upon purchase price. he got me a second fob. he got the $995 "gee, you aren't financing and we have to make our money somewhere" fee and, basically, made the entire process as streamlined as i've ever gone through. EVER. (sure they didn't "offer up" the fob, didn't waive the fee without me pushing the issue and didn't come back at higher trade-in first time - but you have to give credit instead of xxxxxxxx - after all they are in SALES). even if not financing you have to go to the "finance guy". i dreaded that .... but, even that was good. he made a valiant effort to sell us the extended warranty but stopped immediately when my face and tone let him know it was time. HOWEVER, he priced that warranty at so far below what we would have expected i'm sorry we didn't take it. he said we had a week to decide. ethics on top of it all!! wow! and, again, kudos to you Michael Beckett! i told you that was the absolute best intro to the add-on warranty ("wrap" as you taught me) i've ever seen or heard and stand by that! the car was detailed by Barron who i promised i would bring a tip back to when i pick up my second fob - and i will. he did a fantastic job detailing the car while we did the paperwork. that baby was beautiful! above all that the dealership had a positive vibe overall. there was just a bounce to the place that was nice to feel. happy. not cut throat. no xxxxxxxxx. even the sales guys outside taking breaks were nice - didn't hawk on me when i walked in. the entire aura of the place was just "nice". bottom line.... the Hawkinson family actually holds to some ethics and standards and it was incredible to have a nice experience buying a car. i don't have Dylan's last name so i can't tag him here or i would - but what a great guy. Edward Brown - AWESOME to deal with. if you're buying and don't want any b.s. - visit him. maybe stop and see Dylan and have them do a split, though 😇. financing - call first and make sure Michael Beckett is there to take care of you and tell him you already know about the pitch - but don't be afraid - it's worth sitting through! and bring a few bucks to tip the detailer - if it's Barron you're going to owe them. thanks, Hawkinson Nissan! i'm not easily impressed - but you did it. i told you i am loyal beyond... and i'll pitch you out as much as i can! Bait and Switch Warning Bait and switch warning. I emailed Hawkinson Nissan in Matteson on a 2018 Toyota Sienna XLE that I found on the AutoTrader website. Upon arrival at Bait and switch warning. I emailed Hawkinson Nissan in Matteson on a 2018 Toyota Sienna XLE that I found on the AutoTrader website. Upon arrival at a satisfactory purchase price I made the hour drive with my husband and 5 month old baby in tow. We looked over the vehicle and were satisfied until we discovered that the remote start feature that was advertised in the dealer comments on the AutoTrader listing did not actually exist on the car. I attempted to negotiate an additional $275 off the vehicle to cover the majority of the cost that I would incur to have remote start installed (quite cheap as a family friend was willing to do it on the side for me at a significant discount for labor) - but sales management refused to accommodate this so we left without purchasing the vehicle. What was extraordinarily disappointing is that when I showed the sales manager, Nicholas Savoie, the AutoTrader listing he rudely responded ‘I don’t see remote start advertised as a feature on any of our Websites.’ I told him that I negotiated a satisfactory price before I drove my young family an hour there to make this purchase and I expected that the vehicle be accurately described and he simply shrugged his shoulders. There was no apology, no acknowledgement of any wrongdoing by the dealership. It has been one week since I alerted Nicholas to the fact that the listing information was incorrect on AutoTrader, and upon checking this morning the listing STILL includes Remote Start as a feature on the vehicle. I did some digging to ensure something else was not at play and did discover that this information on AutoTrader is sourced directly from the dealer, so at this point it seems like a classic bait and switch technique. The bright spot in all of this was the salesperson, Quiana Vance. She was easy to work with, knowledgable about the vehicle, and generally pleasant. We felt badly that her time was wasted. More
Online advertised price (mandatory dealership items) Online sales person contacted me directly after my online inquiry in response to their online listing of Nissan Altima 2019 SV trim AWD. She provided Online sales person contacted me directly after my online inquiry in response to their online listing of Nissan Altima 2019 SV trim AWD. She provided the quote of $21,000 excluding title, sales tax, documentation fee. We drove 2 hours to this dealership and when we sat for final numbers, Sales manager came up with a OTD price of $26,040. So the price that they confirmed changed from $21,000 to $23,710 (+ the sales tax+documentation fee+government fee is $2,330, which was excluded from advertised cost that we already know). So when we asked about it, he mentioned about the mandatory dealership items (wheel locks $599, simonize paint $1599, anti theft protection $399 and ETHOS $355) that I should pay to qualify for the online advertised price. When I showed their site where this information is not mentioned then he mention that you won't be driving all 2 hours to their dealership if price is not attractive but they will be in loss if they sell the car for online advertised price. So I have to buy these dealer added items at their mentioned price. I ended up paying extra $2000 than what I was expecting to pay for the car. I know if I buy the wheel locks directly from Nissan it cost me $70 but I paid $599, I don't need the simonize paint and anti theft stickers but had to buy in order to qualify for online advertised price. After reviewing other online reviews, I am seeing similar responses from other online shoppers about this dealership. So please beware of the online scam price that this dealership offering, though dealership and inventory seems decent not sure why management is encouraging this dealership item scam(?) More
