Two months ago, I made a visit to Gengras Volvo intending to take a look at the 2013 and 2014 models. It was my good fortune that sales associate Michael Malchevsky was free to show me around. Michael immediately impressed me as well-informed and courteous. Equally importantly, he is also a very good listener. Instead of immediately launching into a sales pitch, Michael took the time to ask me questions about what I was looking for, listened carefully to my answers, asked follow-up questions, and only then began to tell me about the vehicles on offer and how they might fit my needs. He answered all of my questions carefully; when he didn't know the answer, he made sure to find out and follow up with me later. Michael is highly intelligent and articulate, and explained everything about my new car (2014 Volvo S60) clearly and comprehensively. He was also very thorough and supportive throughout the fitting-out and purchase process. All in all, Michael proved himself to be capable, friendly, and highly professional in all of his interactions, and has continued to provide helpful follow-up information and support in the months since I bought the car. My interactions with other staff of Gengras Volvo were also pleasant. All in all, I highly recommend this dealership and especially Michael Malchevsky, for the excellent service they provide to clients. More
I went to Gengras in Meriden recently just to take look at some Volvo's that had peaked my interest, but really had little to no intent in purchasing a vehicle there. I dropped in one day without an appoin at some Volvo's that had peaked my interest, but really had little to no intent in purchasing a vehicle there. I dropped in one day without an appointment, but there were no sales associates available at the time to talk with me due to several of them already meeting with customers who had appointments. I was able to walk around and check out the inventory while I waited, and Chris, an employee of Gengras, took some time to answer any of my questions since no sales employees were available. It was an unfortunate circumstance that I came by at that exact time and everyone was already helping other customers, but being helped by Chris gave me a clue into the customer-focused service that I came to appreciate at Gengras. At the end of my first visit, I was short on time, but Chris wanted to introduce me to John Rita who could help me if I had any more questions in the future. I came back a few days later, and wanted to drive an XC90, which John was happy to show us. My girlfriend and I took a spin in the used car with John in the back, and were treated to a mix of informative answers to our burning Volvo questions, and some friendly banter between people who you might have assumed knew each other for years had you been an outsider looking in on these conversations. John is incredibly personable, and seems to care more about the people that come in to look at cars than the actual sales process. I genuinely felt like he wanted to see us find the right vehicle as opposed to putting us in the car with the fattest bottom line. I never felt any pressure working with John, and he just about bent over backwards to help us out. After about 3 more trips to the dealership and at least 5 more test drives, I finally found a car just in on trade that was screaming my name. I thought the car was a great deal and in excellent condition, and was worried it might be snatched up at any moment by someone coming into the dealership to view it. I certainly took my time to make up my mind, but also did not want to miss out on this particular car, and John probably lost a few off-days in the process to keep showing us the vehicle and continue answering questions. When I finally made up my mind, we reached out to John on his personal phone and off hours, and he made sure that the car would be held for us. When it came time to close the sale, he also took care of 1 or 2 concerns we had around the car, and made sure it was literally perfect for delivery. To close the deal and make it official, we worked with Kathleen Casey in the F&I office who was also a true asset to Gengras. She was very helpful, and took the time to answer all my questions... and there were a lot of them! She worked with me to find a deal that I was comfortable with and helped us finance the vehicle. Overall, my experience with Gengras was overwhelmingly positive, and I would not hesitate for one second to recommend this dealership to anyone. They are selling a superior product, but more importantly, they are ensuring that their customers are the #1 priority, and they really demonstrate that they care about each person that walks through those doors. I went to Gengras to buy a new Volvo its not the dealership that's closer to my house but I was presently surprised that the staff was very friendly, accommodating and not the 'phony' friendly that dealership that's closer to my house but I was presently surprised that the staff was very friendly, accommodating and not the 'phony' friendly that you normally see at dealerships if you know what I mean..wink wink... John was great and very knowledgeable about the cars and all the options and not at all pushy. Gengras goes the extra mile to the point as I was leaving John is like if you have a question on anything you just call me and it wasn't words, he actually meant it. I went to dealership today to have service done on my 2011 Volvo xc60. While waiting for my service I browsed the showroom and fell in love with a 2014 Volvo xc90. I was introduced to Jolanda who I imm 2011 Volvo xc60. While waiting for my service I browsed the showroom and fell in love with a 2014 Volvo xc90. I was introduced to Jolanda who I immediately took a liking to. She was personable and willing to work with me. In the end she made it possible for me to drive home my new Volvo that same afternoon! I would definitely recommend this dealership as well as, Yolanda, for this team made for a great purchase experience for me. More
