I went to Center Subaru yesterday to look at Subaru's, as I needed a larger car for my business materials and also an AWD. Getting out of my beloved Kia Soul was going to be very difficult, but Northern VA l I needed a larger car for my business materials and also an AWD. Getting out of my beloved Kia Soul was going to be very difficult, but Northern VA living is way different from NW Connecticut living, so, alas, I kissed my Soul goodbye today. Nick came out to see me. I gave him every detail of everything going on, and we went to the cars. He knew what I wanted, what was most important, and handily took control from there. He kept me focused, and shortly we would know how great minds think alike; while he went to get keys to 2 Subarus, sitting right in front of me was a brand I never wanted to drive before, Honda. I'm more of a European car person, (Saab and VW) before I went Kia. He knew already that this Honda was the only car on the lot that had the space I needed in back, with rear seats up, the mileage max and the budget I needed. Even though I hemmed and hawed at a few things, he kept bringing me back to my reality. He easily pointed out, by question of me, "does it have the room you need? Does it have a fair price? Did it have the mileage you'll accept? Is it visually to your liking? Is it the right color for you? How are the new tires?" He was right, all the way. So, you know that the very first thing I said to him yesterday was that I could absolutely not make a purchase yesterday, because I'm in a new job and needed a paystub to finance. Enter James, in Finance. Well, amazing how things happen. James had me approved on this Honda CRV EX L, within moments. I emailed him my pay stub from the new job, late last night and picked up the car today. James is not someone you would expect in a dealership. He is so kind, caring, affable, truly interested in whatever conversation you're engaging him in, not pushy to upsell options. He simply lays out the offers, explains them, accepts your answer and goes forward. He's professional and bends over backward to please his customer. Onto Sal, who helped me transfer an amazing amount of Kitchen and Bathroom materials from one car to the other. He was so very personable and kind; you can tell he was raised by very warm people. It was a huge amount of goods and very heavy, given the Granite and Quartz samples he moved. I feel bad that I went to a Subaru dealership for a Subaru and came out with a Honda, but every one of us won. Center Subaru is an honest, ethical, caring company which is really the reason you want to select them for your next car purchase. What a lovely experience it was, start to finis, h, 3 hours max.
