I was an out of state buyer, looking to purchase a vehicle at Langan VW. They had the exact vehicle I wanted, colors I wanted, and options I wanted that were not available anywhere else. It was only missing one dealer installed option, and we negotiated a reasonable price for the vehicle over the phone and I flew up to pickup the vehicle. I had the opportunity to deal with the sales, service (dealer installed option), parts (I needed a few bits for a trailer harness), and finance department. Every one of my interactions was simply the most professional interaction I have ever had with a dealer -- and I own a few high-dollar cars. Dennis Erk was a professional to deal with, he picked me up and dropped me off from my hotel near the airport, and made sure my vehicle was loaded by my carrier with great care. He truly went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. He explained all the features of the car, and from shooting shop with him he really seems to know VWs other cars and be passionate about them. His professional attitude and willing to work with me and for me made the sale a success. The service managers and Master Mechanics (some are the only in the state with their level of certification/knowledge) were all professional and willing to humor me. Parts promptly looked up the parts I needed, and ordered them to my home address. Finally, while I have had great salesman in the past, it is usually offset by a high pressure cooker in the finance office. Marissa was knowledgeable, flexible, and helped me square all my out of state paperwork away. They even provided paid mailing service for me, so that I could get my plates sooner. This trumps other experiences where I had to wait for titles to be mailed to my house a month later while the temp tags expire -- my documents were sent same day -- so I might even get my plates and tags from my state before the vehicle -- utterly outstanding. I live in Alabama, but I would strongly consider buying my next vehicle from Langan as I have never experienced this level of service from a dealer before and I've dealt with Lexus, Porsche, Lotus, BMW, Acura, and others with my previous cars. Too bad they aren't down here for service. More

Being a customer for almost 10 years, I have seen faces come and go and each new one is just as friendly as the last. Everyone always has a smile on their face, even the janitor! The customer service is amazing, when I call I just have to give my first name and they know who I am. I grew up in Portland so the ride was easy; I have lived in Branford for the past 4 years and I still drive almost an hour just to go to Lagan even though there is a VW dealership 15mins away. What won me over was when I was 19 and thought I needed new brakes. Instead of looking at me as quick money because I have no idea about cars, they told me that I did not need new brakes, there was just some sand in them. People think I'm crazy for driving an hour to get my car service but I tell them, it's worth because it's the best service around. I will never leave Lagan VW, they are truly great people!! P.S.- I love the ice cream too!!! More

The people at Gene Langan VW were great from the beginning. From first walking in to take a look at the car, to coming back in once I made a decision, I never once felt pressured. I worked with two awesome salesmen--Jeff and BJ--both of whom were very helpful as well as caring. BJ made it a point to connect with me on a personal level--being a Sign Language Interpreter myself, he was excited to show me some sign he knew. And Jeff has called a few times in the week since I've bought the car to check up on how everything's going, he didn't just stop at the first obligatory message left on my voicemail. Melissa was also a joy to work with helping me figure out my first car loan. You felt like they really cared about you and your welfare. Also, before I even had a chance to sit in my new car, I was brought around to be introduced to the entire staff working on the floor, service people included. It really made me feel like I was joining their family. There was one incident with a faulty alternator--a fluke that could happen anywhere--and though I had to bring the car back in the night I bought it, the car was fixed and polished by the time I woke up the next day. Overall, though there were slight hiccups, I'd highly recommend them as a dealer. And though I HOPE not to see them until it's time for my first free oil change, I feel that when I do go back I will not have any hassles. More

I purchased a CPO 2008 VW Passat, price was right for the options and mileage on the car. I did have an issue with the vehicle not being detailed as they had stated. I live one hour from the dealership and this is by far the best dealer I have had to deal with. In the past I have bought my vehicles from Balise and Gene Langan VW surpasses them with quality, price and customer service. This dealer has a wonderful, friendly knowledgeable team in place, they work together rather than against each other. I have never been happier with a car and a car dealership. You folks rock and blow Balise dealerships out of the water!!! Oh, my daughter left her sunglasses in the loaner car we used while they were detailing my car, they called to tell me and let me know they would hold on to them until I had a chance to go back and pick them up. How awesome is that? Pretty awesome I say!!! See you folks soon! More

After doing much research, my wife and I decided to look for a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta. We had heard many great things regarding Gene Langan Volkswagen in Glastonbury from several family members. We decided that we would shop here first. Immediately upon entering the front door we were greeted by a courteous employee of the dealership. The employee asked "what brings you in today"? My wife and I then stated that we were in the market for a new V.W Jetta and would like to take a look at what our options would be. In the showroom was a black 2011 SEL model that we started poking and prodding at discovering all the features. Shortly thereafter, while looking at our prospective new vehicle, a gentleman by the name of B.J Evans greeted us. Our first impression of B.J was that he was a down to earth personable type with our best interest in mind. After talking with him for a few minutes my wife and I decided that this would be the dealer we would purchase her new vehicle from. Long story short, for those who do not know, B.J. Evans is the manager of the internet sales department and is not a salesperson per se. However, he took the time to sell us the vehicle and owned us as customers from the time were introduced, to the time the vehicle was delivered. All in all, I could not have expected any more from the entire staff of the dealership. Everyone from the managers, to Marissa the Finance Manager was a pleasure to deal with. I would and will recommend Gene Langan Volkswagen to everyone I know. More
