Would I recommend this dealer question - should have with improvements. Service advisor didn't return 3 phone calls prior to the service for parts availability - so I ordered them myself. I purchased my volkswagon at Faulkner VW in Allentown(which I highly reccomend.) I live in Berks and was planning on taking my VW to this dealer ship to have it serviced after my purchase. This review covers my first and final experience of Reading Audi/VW. This was my 30 day check-up. It was supposed to be an easy, routine, quick kind of a deal. Thirty minutes tops. I ended up being there for an hour and a half. That's not worst part. They did nothing more than check the tire pressure, alignment, maybe the fluids. In the time I was sitting there, the environment in this place was nauseating. Not at all what I experienced at Faulkner. For one, they lost a woman's keys....? The manner in which the staff spoke was down right uneducated and rude. I would have expected more class here. So, I check out. I go out the front door to my car, and oh hey, they managed to wash my car in that hour and a half! There sits my beautiful 2013 black vw with two huge deep SCRATCHES in the driver's side door, right above the handle!!!! I don't normally complain about things like this but when you spend 25k on something, you speak up. The manager came out and took them out. I was too peeved to even check the rest of the car. When I got home I checked even inch, there was not only white lint all over it (what idiot cleans a black car with a white towel) but, there where two more 4 inch hairline scratches by the headlight on the driver's side. It's a black car!!! I just bought it!!! I would rather pay money to have an expensive detailer take them out then to go back here. Better yet, take my time and gas to drive to Faulkner in Allentown. At least I know they will do it right. My car will never touch this lot again unless it's an emergency. More
The Service Dept at VW Reading is excellent. Nick Krick is a wonderful Service Advisor. He was able to fit us in for a 60K service when we only had one day available to have it done. I felt like I was important to Sal. I spent about 2 hours there and Sal always came back to check up on me and make sure I knew what was going on and offered to have my car inspected so I wouldn't have to br there and Sal always came back to check up on me and make sure I knew what was going on and offered to have my car inspected so I wouldn't have to bring my car back in the next 2 months. I brought my Passat in for service on April 17. Sal had the rental car ready and efficiently went over any issues I was having with the car. He answered all my questions and told me he would Rick from the paint and body shop check my scratches and go over that information with me when I pick up the car. Sal called Thursday morning to let me know the car was ready - all serviced and inspected - fixed my key - ordered a part for the back seat. When I picked up my car everything was smooth. Parked the rental in the breezeway - got my paperwork - paid my bill - Rick was there as promised to go over my paint repair and I was on my way. Sal is great - VW is great - This is one of many positive experiences I have had with VW. The girls are very professional at the client care desk. More
