Overall buying process was relatively easy and not Overall buying process was relatively easy and not pressured at all. Very satisfied with my salesman and the dealership in general - UNTIL I too Overall buying process was relatively easy and not pressured at all. Very satisfied with my salesman and the dealership in general - UNTIL I took my truck in for a check engine light visit (at my local dealer). My local dealer told my that my check engine light was on due to improper programming of the engine's computer. As it turns out, my truck had been in for warranty work (at another Philly area dealer) and had its engine replaced with a REMANUFACTURED engine two months before I bought it. After digging around a little I found that my truck had over $9,000 worth of work done in May 2013 (I bought it in July). This did not show up on the carfax report, nor did anyone at Garnet mention it during the sale. I have sent three emails to different people at Garnet, including my salesman (Tony) and the manager and have gotten no response whatsoever. With the process vehicles go through to be Ford Certified, I would have a lot of trouble believing that no one at Garnet knew about this. I live 125 miles from this dealer, but I wouldn't buy another car from them if they were right across the street from me. They are very quick to respond to you when they want you to buy a vehicle, but when something isn't right, like this, they do not respond at all. To sum up, I was very happy with the way things went pre-sale. It was the events following the sale that led to this review. More
My wife and I have owned vehicles for nearly 40 years each, and have owned more makes and models than we'd care to think about. In all that time, and hundreds of service visits, our recent experience wit each, and have owned more makes and models than we'd care to think about. In all that time, and hundreds of service visits, our recent experience with the Garnet service department is simply the most deplorable example of dealer service we have ever experienced. Our car was returned to us from having a roof leak repaired by Garnet, and they had clearly damaged the roof while doing it. When we said it must have been damaged when in for the repair, the service writer first was very apologetic and assured us it would be fixed. Later that day, he called back saying they would not cover the repair because it was hail damage, or maybe a tree limb had fallen on the car. Two adjusters have agreed that it was clearly not hail damage, and one said that it appeared to be damage caused by someone working on the roof. After that the service manager called us back saying he had gone to look at the car and was very sorry we had been told it was hail damage, when it clearly wasn't. It had to have been caused by a tree limb falling on the car. That never happened - the car was never out of our possession, and no limbs had fallen in our yard. So they are basically calling us liars. If a limb large enough to cause that damage had fallen on the car, it would have at least scratched the paint, which it isn't. I have never heard such BS from a service department anywhere, ever. I intend to tell as many people as possible to avoid this dealership at all costs. Since we have been business owners in this area for over 30 years, with a sterling reputation, we will be certain to spread that word with all of our customers. Of course, we do expect a glowing 5 star review of their service department to appear in response to this. Miraculously, that always seems to be the case... More

I bought a 2008 Ford F150 FX4 CPO a month ago and the sales service was fantastic at Garnet Ford. It was a Certified Preowned, which is "supposed" to undergo a 169 point inspection. I drove 2 sales service was fantastic at Garnet Ford. It was a Certified Preowned, which is "supposed" to undergo a 169 point inspection. I drove 2 hours each way to pick it up since it was the only black CPO FX4 within 200 miles. I drove it all through the holiday season. However, about 2 weeks after I bought it a noticeable squeak started coming from the front of the truck. Finally, the holiday season was over and I made an appointment with a Ford dealership closer to home in Hanover, PA thinking it would be under their 3 month/3,000 mile warranty. Keep in mind I put 1,500 miles on it so it's well under warranty. They inspected the noise and it wound up being a scored rotor and heavy rust lip. Both front rotors and pads had to be replaced and it was NOT under warranty. During the CPO inspection the rotors "should have been" checked for scoring, etc. per the Ford documentation. The techs at the Ford in Hanover said this rotor should have never passed the CPO inspection. Well, I paid the $491.87 and thought Garnet Ford would step up and reimburse me for their shoddy inspection...and well......no they would not. Garnet told me I was SOL because I didn't drive to their dealership 2 hours each way for them to inspect the brakes themselves at which point they MAY or MAY NOT do something about them. Keep in mind I have the rotors and pads that were removed, but "Chris" said they had to be on the vehicle in order for him to do something. Either calling me or the Ford dealership in Hanover liars. So "Chris" wanted me to drive all that way like I don't have a job or anything else to do when there is a dealership right up the street from me. Moral of the story is DO NOT buy a Certified Preowned vehicle from Garnet Ford in Chadds Ford, PA. I was singing the praises of this dealership to everyone I knew for a month and now I can only think about how I needed a front brake job a month after purchasing a CPO. If you want no peace of mind and lots of aggravation then go ahead and let Garnet Ford take care of that for you. They are more than willing. More

We purchased a new truck and realized it would not suite are needs and we wanted to trade it for a van. The first phone call made they said "no problem we will get back to you tomorrow". Tomorrow came to are needs and we wanted to trade it for a van. The first phone call made they said "no problem we will get back to you tomorrow". Tomorrow came told them what we were looking for and this is when the run around started. They ended up saying after talking to 3 managers. The truck is used now come down and give us a check for $1,500 and we will do the switch. We where so frustrated. if they would have told us on the first phone call that they considered it used it would have saved us a lot of stress. We took the truck to a local Ford dealership and they made us a offer THAT we were getting at least some money back, insteaded of paying Garnet Ford more money for a van that is cheaper than the truck. We felt embrassed as it was and was willing to take a lost but not to pay more and take 2 days of phone calls. More
