Came in for a 2014 Mazda 6. Michael Tino was the employee who helped us with the new lease. To be short, he was fantastic. He was very friendly, and courteous, and knew the Mazda backwards and front. George Schultheis is the best dealer we have worked with in our twenty two years of driving thus far. He didn't try to push me into a car they currently had on hand; he took the time to find out exactly what I wanted in terms of model, trim level, packages and even color, then went and found exactly that vehicle for me with no added accessories that I didn't wish to pay for. He met all of my pricing requirements and did so while being personable, professional and friendly. Josh went above and beyond to not only make sure that I got the car I wanted, but that I got it fairly and squarely. He truly focuses on the customer and will not rest until his customer is completely satisfied, and he proved this over two months after I purchased my car by working to get me a refund I was due from financing because of an incorrect payoff on the car I traded in. If you are looking to buy a car on Long Island and you're considering a Mazda, you need to go see Josh at Garden City Mazda. Iv'e been buying cars for years and this is the best overall experiece Iv'e had. Usually the salesperson,finance manger, sales manager,and/or service manager are big dissapointments. We went there to get a mazda3. Joe was great and friendly. However the finance department is REALLY shady. They set poor expectations and ran my credit so many times that my score went down a full 4 friendly. However the finance department is REALLY shady. They set poor expectations and ran my credit so many times that my score went down a full 40 points as a result. We only authorized it for one attempt which should have started the process not running it so many times (its been almost 2 months later and still getting notices for it). Secondly we realized we were getting ripped off on the price as we saw huntington mazda (also part of the LICauto family of dealerships GCM belongs to) had a BRAND new hatchback version itouring for less than the used sedan version. We backed out of everything seeing we were getting ripped off. In the end we went to Huntington Mazda which I recommend highly. They were straight and the finance information was up front. We wound up within our target to get the car. We now have a brand new iTouring hatchback vs a used overpriced sedan. They only needed to run my credit once and were able to get the needed information to start a loan. The contrast between the two dealerships is what made me realize the difference between a good one and a bad one. DONT DEAL WITH GARDEN CITY MAZDA!! They are very shady and gave us runaround when refunding our down payment back to us. We had to get the bank involved which resulted in a VERY quick refund to avoid any bad situation with our bank. Buying my car at Garden City Mazda with Irving was the most informed and pleasurable experience throughout all my car buying years. In fact, I dreaded entering a dealership, recalling the detestable experiences with every dealership. But buying my 2004 Grand Touring CX-5 was heavenly because of Irv's helpfulness, knowledge of the car and almost instant rapport with my husband and me. There was no pressure whatsoever from him or the dealership. In fact, Irving even tried to sell me the lower priced model because it had almost everything I was looking for. The time, care, diligence, and concern shown to us was over and beyond our expectations and what might be considered average. Without a doubt I would recommend Garden City Mazda and Irving Trubitsky (not to mention Joe Arena, the manager) to anyone sincerely looking to buy a car, but especially a Mazda. PS. In November 2012 we leased a Mazda CX5, at the time of leasing I requested a rear Cargo Mat and retractible cover, I was told at the time they did not have any in stock and as soon as they arrive ' we wil leasing I requested a rear Cargo Mat and retractible cover, I was told at the time they did not have any in stock and as soon as they arrive ' we will call you as soon as they are in'. It is now March 2013 and we have still not received the parts. I have emailed and called many times without success. On March 22nd I received the Rear Cargo Cover but still not the Cargo Matt. We are due to return our 2010 Mazda 6 for a new Mazda 6 2014, we will not use this dealership again, we will go to another MAZDA Dealer. Sincerely Steve Pryke More
