Well, when you are lucky enough to have been assisted by Danny Talamantes at Galpin Mazda, you definitely choose to wait - going without transportation and even changing your holiday weekend plans as I did - because you know that there simply is no substitute for his exceptional service. Painstakingly thorough and attentive, Danny has ever been the very definition of incomparable care. He set high standards for my service expectations long ago and has never failed to meet them in the more than thirteen years since. In fact, he somehow manages to exceed them. Upon his return, my service experience was even better than expected - not only completely stress-free, but altogether pleasant. As always, Danny was absolutely worth the wait! More

I dropped it off at 1:30pm and was told it would be 60-90 minutes so I decided to walk down the street and grab lunch. An hour later I was back in the service waiting area. Two hours after I left my car and I'm told it will be another 5 minutes, 30 minutes later the service advisor asks me why I don't have my car yet. another 30 minutes and I'm told "we have a problem with your car, ANOTHER CUSTOMER HAS TAKEN IT!!!!" Seriously!!! Apparently they had done paperwork, handed over the key, the guy had walked over to my car, driven to the exit which has a guard that scans your VIN and cross checks it before he lifts the arm for you to drive out. They said they had called him threatening to call the police and much later that they spoke with him and he was 15-20 minutes away. About 4:30pm after nearly two hours, and 67 miles of joyriding, my car is returned. A 20 something kid gets out and I go off (my car has 3800 miles on it ALL driven by me), he just stands there and repeats "sorry" to every comment I make. The service manager starts backing him up saying 'he was confused', 'he made a mistake'. He took a Silver Stinger when he dropped off a white mazda!!!! The service manager tells me 'obviously we'll give you a tank of gas to make things right' (no joke). So I am now going over every inch of the car inside and out and the kid and manager walk away. Next thing I see the kid driving off in his car, security opens the gate and they let him go. I have NO IDEA what was done in, with or to my car during the time he had it. I would advise anyone planning on using this place to think very carefully because they do not take care of your property. Be warned! More
Recently took my Mazda into Galpin Mazda for an oil change and requested they look into a few items. The service writer was very friendly and they had a nice facility with free coffee and pastries.<br change and requested they look into a few items. The service writer was very friendly and they had a nice facility with free coffee and pastries.

The inside rear view mirror was loose. The dome light didn't work and chrome strip on the LR door was loose.

After two hours, I was told that the mirror was not repairable and a new one would cost $110. The loose chrome strip would cost $380 to replace and the dome light would cost $15, if it was just a burned out bulb. I told them to fix the dome light only.

Oh, they also said that my two rear shocks were bad and needed to be replaced for $620. I asked if they meant the two front shocks, because those were the ones they said were bad and needed to be replaced during my last oil change. They said no, it was definitely the two rear shocks. I said no thanks.

When I got the car home I decided to take the rear view mirror off myself to look at it. Lo and Behold, after the removal, a mounting bracket was revealed that had two loose phillip head screws. I tightened them and reinstalled the mirror. This took me all of 5 minutes. I also cemented the door trim back on myself with a $3.99 tube of trim adhesive from Pep Boys.

Never again Galpin Mazda service.

More
