Had my 2019 RAM 1500 in for electrical issues, and RF Hub was replaced, which did fix the problem - although it was a temporary fix, as the new RF Hub failed after about 20 miles. These things happen, espec was replaced, which did fix the problem - although it was a temporary fix, as the new RF Hub failed after about 20 miles. These things happen, especially with electrical problems. Sometimes the underlying issue can be difficult to find and fix - especially when caused by water intrusion. The rear power sliding window and high mount stop lamp are both notorious for failing and allowing water to run down the inside of the rear of the cab. This can cause immediate failure of the electrical components mounted to the rear cab wall, and/or also cause problems later on, due to the possibility of corrosion forming on the pins of the conectors at the Hub itself, or in the numerous pin connectors under the carpet, which also get soaked when the window and/or high mount stop lamp leak. The fact that this has been a known issue for over a decade and that RAM continues to use the same components is frustrating, to say the least. There are TSBs covering these defects, and RAM has extended the warranty out to 8 years/150,000 miles, but frequently only wants to remove and reinstall the window, and take no responsibility for the failure of the electrical components inundated by the water. Extended warranty covered first RF Hub replacement. While my usual service advisor, Juan (who is fantastic) was on vacation, another service advisor told me that the truck needs a rear window replacement, which is exceedingly expensive. He was unaware that the truck is covered by both the TSB and an extended warranty. Waiting for Juan to return from vacation, when my truck will be handed back over to him, as he has had it since the beginning. This makes sense. As frustrating as the issue itself is, Juan has been absolutely fantastic. Great communication, and he listens to me when I'm giving details of my vehicles' symptoms and eventual breakdown, and he addresses each of those concerns. He details his conversations with the warranty company, and I feel like he would advocate for me, as much as is possible, in the event he needed to. In short, I definitely feel like I'm in good hands with him, which decreases my anxiety over this whole thing. Overall and so far, this has far and away been the best service experience I've had, even if my truck remains inoperable. Yes - a weird thing to say, but it all boils down to customer service, and up to this point, that has been top-notch. Juan is exactly the type of person you want in a service department, and I hope this dealership recognizes the asset that he is. As for the rest, fingers crossed. More
