Repaired my emissions system, needed to pass smog for registration. After repairs, the vehicle still failed. Service double checked (found no problems) then explained hard errors and how to reset by dr registration. After repairs, the vehicle still failed. Service double checked (found no problems) then explained hard errors and how to reset by driving a specific pattern of constant velocity followed by stop and go. And then waiting 8 hours for the answer. Thought they were crazy, it worked. :-) More

I needed an old change service and made an early morning appointment I was there about 90 minutes. The Employee who helped me offered to take care of the recall service at the same visit but I did not have appointment I was there about 90 minutes. The dealership service department applied inspect and clean/reassemble procedure on my focus EV to eliminate the spurious latch-in of an “emergency stop fault”. The fault has returned. Two weeks later and $900 poorer I need a fix for this apparent software glitch problem. Whatever the source of this fault is it does not seem to be associated with any loss of function/serviceability of the vehicle. . (Upon reset, all ok/ no problems). I need software support. As a design engineer I need to understand the signal source of this fault declaration. Please help. More
