Brian was very professional and courteous. Answered our questions fully and when there was a discrepancy on the pricing, he went to his manager and had it corrected without any hassle. The upfront process of the transaction was great, so please don't let the rest of this review reflect poorly on Brian!. However, it went straight downhill when we sat with the Nick in Finance. He attempted to sell us an extended warranty that he said cost $1,795, but will only cost us an additional $20 monthly on a 48 month loan; but doing the math, it should actually cost $41 monthly? No way were they "giving" us the difference, so it was obvious he was hiding something. What he actually did was he told us we were getting the promotional int. rate of 3.99% as advertised, but in fact he calculated the payment based 5.99%, which increased the payment $21 so we would think we are only paying $20 more a month for the warranty.. We kept asking him how he came up with the numbers and he said it's complicated; he tried many ways to explain it, but noting he said made sense. After about 10 minutes he said "you got me, it's a sales technique and I lied to you". I thought he was kidding but he said "you caught me and I manned up to it, so let's move on". Not going to go through all the words that followed, but it got heated. The General Manager got involved and apologized for Nick's behavior and reduced the price where they actually ate an additional $1,000 due to the finance guy's behavior. We have no idea if this was a planned "sales" tactic endorsed and practiced by the dealership, or if it was the finance guy's doing so he can make a few dollars in commission? Either way, it was an experience that should concern anyone that goes to this dealership., you should know the numbers and read and question everything until you get 100% understanding of what you are agreeing to. More
Our 4th Subaru, and this by far was our most pleasant buying experience. Yuliya Shvartsman provided such excellent service. She was knowledgeable, polite and straightforward. 1. I brought my car in for an "Express" oil change and tire rotation, for which the web site and mailings said I needed no appointment. I was told it would be at least two and a half hours to wait, and t tire rotation, for which the web site and mailings said I needed no appointment. I was told it would be at least two and a half hours to wait, and that it would be better for me to make an appointment for the following week. I said just do the work, I am here already. So "Express" did not exist. It took about three hours. 2. I told the service rep. (Stephanie) to make sure my tire pressure was done properly after the rotation, because I had had problems with this in the past. Tire pressure was done incorrectly once again, although Stephanie told me it was done to spec from the door sticker. 3. My trunk area was left in disarray, which I discovered when I got home. Cargo tray was bent, and cargo floor pieces were all over the place. 4. I am a little skeptical that the tire rotation was done, because no one asked me where the key to the wheel locks was located. But I have no way to really tell. 4. Surprise---this dealership now places a surcharge on every credit card transaction. Now I know. Guess I should have brought cash with me. I have bought my last three vehicles from this dealership, two Foresters and an Outback. I have given my salesperson (Carlos) an excellent review on this site. But the service department has been deteriorating in my view, and today's visit was the most annoying yet. (Updated: changed rating from 2 to 3 stars and recommendation from NO to YES) Service advisor Stephanie contacted me with an apology and some compensation (free oil change) for the mistakes that were made. She assured me that the tire rotation had been done (evidently repair work is recorded) and I do feel more confident about that now. More
