went to this dealership without any referrals or knowing someone that had brought a car from them. Was choosing between 2 cars. The price of the other car I was looking into was actually lower. Based the overall atmosphere and friendliness of the dealership I decided to buy lease my Legacy here. The salesman was extremely knowledgeable and professional while not being overly aggressive. My last purchase experience with a DIFFERENT New Jersey dealer, had left me with a bad taste in my mouth. That was in October, 2011 when I bought a 2011 Forester 2.5X Premium. Because of that experienc dealer, had left me with a bad taste in my mouth. That was in October, 2011 when I bought a 2011 Forester 2.5X Premium. Because of that experience, I have been having service work done here at Freehold Subaru. Service experience made me hope that sales department was on the same plane, so to speak. Introduced myself to Mike, about 10 days ago and thought we were looking for a car in the late summer or in the fall. Well, just a few days later, my wife and I decided to swap our other Subaru (2009 Forester 2.5X Limited) for the "latest and greatest" --a 2012 Forester 2.5X Touring. Wanted to upgrade to get the back up camera, mirrors with lights, adjustable passenger seat, superior sound system, dual zone heat/air conditioning, etc. Oh yes, this trim level also comes with silver roof rails (lower trims have black), but trust me - - that had nothing to do with my choice of model. I began vehicle shopping, on line and in person. I even looked (and I beg forgiveness) at some competitive models. Zeroing in and confirming my choice of vehicle (this would be my tenth Subaru since I began driving them, in 1997) I talked with and/or visited seven New Jersy dealers. I even gave the 2011 dealer a shot (dealership is under new general management). While some of the dealerships were accomodating and competitive, others were not. In the end, I wound up at Freehold - - as I thought I might. They had one of the best inventories of Touring models, as well as in depth inventories of other trim levels. Pricing was excellent. Now for the amazing part: I made a purchase decision, at home, on Wednesday at 12:45pm. I called the dealership and asked them how soon we could do the requisite paperwork and they said: "Come on down". Not so amazing you say? Well, I drove the 12 miles to the dealership and Mike took the time to make 100% sure that I was getting the model I really wanted/needed. Vehicle inspection, questions answered and a hand shake deal by 1:20pm. Fifteen minutes later my trade in was accepted under the Subaru GTP. At that point, I asked them to start the paperwork so I could come back in the morning to complete it and pick up my new Subie. You see, I had an engagement and had to leave the dealership no later than 3:00pm. I have bought 25 cars in my life and have never completed all of the business transaction in under three hours. Mike assured me that we could do this and that he would get me out of the dealership with my new car by my 3:00 deadline. Well, he did it. He worked like the dickens to get the paperwork handled, contact my insurance company, deal with the MVC, switch my plates and move all of my personal stuff into my new car (and I have a great deal of tools, etc. that had to be moved). I was on my way, out of the parking lot, when I realized I had forgotten all six CDs in the CD changer of the 2009. I went back, Mike got my old keys and flew to retrieve the CDs. Once I had them in my possession, I headed out again and noted that even with the return to the showroom - - it was only 2:56. I had four minutes to spare. Mike, and the rest of the staff, not only made the procedure fast (while being competitive), made me comfortable and confident that I made the right choice in dealership. Just to add to my amazement, just one day after delivery they called to advise that my vehicle registration was in for pick up. On previous purchases, from other NJ and NY dealers the time for completion of this service ranged from seven to tweny one days. Freehold Subaru will see me again when it is time to trade the 2011 or the 2012. More

It worked very well for me who knows the car, who also does not want to have multiple trips to different dealerships nor to negotiate with any agent. Now I am happily driving a new Forester limited on the road. Freehold Subaru has a large inventory as well. Initially my preferred color was sage green. While Mark showing me the car I immediately fell in love with the color of the car right next to sage green-- dark gray!! Mark also kindly helped me to pair my iPhone with the hand-free device. I will definitely recommend Freehold Subaru to my friends. More

Because your dealership is an Certified USAA Dealer, we were confident that the pricing of the vehicle would be fair and reasonable and the additional discount that USAA sealed the deal. I had gone to Hyundai and KIA dealerships prior to Subaru. Both Hyundai and KIA had obnoxious, pushy and aggressive sales reps who took the “fun” out of buying a car, they made my skin crawl because Subaru.
