We have purchased two vehicles from Freehold Subaru in the past two years. Both times the staff and the process could not have been more professional, fair and with the minimum amount of bureaucracy. This is the second Subaru I have bought from this dealership. Great, professional and friendly service. Mike couldn't have been more accomodating, and very sympathetic to my situation after losing my dealership. Great, professional and friendly service. Mike couldn't have been more accomodating, and very sympathetic to my situation after losing my car to Hurricane Sandy. I recommend this dealership to all of my friends because of the overall good experience from beginning to end. More
As a consumer, we did the research working with several dealership to get the price of the car & all the other fees involved. We visited this dealership in person after getting a internet price, to make su dealership to get the price of the car & all the other fees involved. We visited this dealership in person after getting a internet price, to make sure the other fees are what we were told, sometime when you go to the dealership it is a totally different story. The sales person who helped us was very rude, no manners & no general etiquette. He said looks like you guys have lots of time to visit the dealership & now what you will do is go to the other dealer & ask them to beat our price? At the end he just left us with no hand shake, no words on what your thoughts are, or i will be looking forward to hear from you. We would pay 500$ extra & buy from somewhere else, BUT not from here. I did my deed & reported this behavior to the sales manager since it is none of the sales person business to say something like that. I think they need to hire better staf & the staf needs to understand that every consumer will do their homework before buying a car. It is a big expense & every customer will shop around to get what is the best out there. Overall we were not treated with respect & it was not a good experience. I will not recommend this dealership. I bought a new Impreza from Freehold Subaru after Bob found the car and placed it on hold. The vehicle sooner than I expected but Bob managed to keep my vehicle safe and sound, while I was on vacation. W found the car and placed it on hold. The vehicle sooner than I expected but Bob managed to keep my vehicle safe and sound, while I was on vacation. When I returned, Bob and his manager Bill went out of their way to get me the best financing, originally unavailable at the time of my deposit. Seeing the new vehicle waiting for me was great but knowing they went the extra distance to find me better financing, without me even asking, was a welcomed surprise. Bill even gave me advice, from his personal experience with Subaru warranties so that I was able to make an informed decision. All of that attention to detail makes me comfortable to recommend my friends and family to them and this dealership. In all the transaction was very fair, very professional, and very pleasant. I plan to have this Subaru for a long time but this experience makes me pleased to visit for service and recommend anyone looking for a Subaru to see Bob Strzelecki or Bill Taylor at Freehold Subaru More
Car buying is usually a nerve-wracking experience, but not with this dealership. This was the second time that I purchased a car here and each time I found the staff to be courteous, knowledgeable, and e not with this dealership. This was the second time that I purchased a car here and each time I found the staff to be courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. My husband and I were treated respectfully and did not have to endure the game-playing that often accompanies making a deal. I applaud the dealership in general and our salesperson, Shane Boyce, for making our recent purchase a pleasant experience. More
This rating is relative to the sales process as I have just purchased the new car and it won't go in for service for a while. That said, this is the best new car pre-sales and sales experience I have had just purchased the new car and it won't go in for service for a while. That said, this is the best new car pre-sales and sales experience I have had - and I have bought a lot of cars over the years. We contacted four local NJ Subaru dealers initially thru the Cars Direct web site. Freehold quoted a specific price for the car with the specified options on their first email response. On the first visit to test drive the car, we got great friendly, knowlegeable service and no pressure to consummate the deal on the spot - we were still comparing other cars as well as Subaru dealers at that stage. Once we had fixed on the car, Freehold Honda's initial quote turned out to be the best price. While providing information about other accessories and options, Dean and Ira were completely respectful of our decisions on these. Also, there was no attempt to inflate documentation and other fees (not the case with at least one of the other dealers). Closing the sale and taking delivery were completely straightforward and efficient. The car was prepped properly and the feature review was helpful and through. Overall, a great sales experience and kudos to Dean and Ira for being attentive, knowledgeable and straight forward. I will definitely come back to Honda Freehold for another Subaru when its time to trade our second car. More
I will make this short. We really like the Forester. It handles good on the road and amazing in the snow. I feel very safe in this vehicle, however, the reason we bought this SUV because our salesman insi handles good on the road and amazing in the snow. I feel very safe in this vehicle, however, the reason we bought this SUV because our salesman insisted that it handled great on the beaches. So we took his word for it. The 2nd day we had the vehicle we took it down to Island Beach State Park...where we've taken all of our 4-wheel drives.( so we are "new"at driving on the beach). WE GOT STUCK IN THE SAND. My husband had to push me out. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT GOOD IN THE SAND. DO NOT BUY ONE IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON DOING THAT.. We really liked the egyptian salesman but very disappointed he didn't know to see the vehicle properly. Would never buy from them again. We are stuck with this car now until Feb. of 2014 and it has taken us away from something that we love to do. Shame on him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More

We opted out This is two reviews in one.... In April, my huband who is a "new car junkie", went to Freehold Subaru to look at an Impreza Hatchback. We opted out of our local dealership for Freehold because at the time they had a larger inventory. Although we had been discussing getting a small SUV, my husband was not sure about taking the plunge. While looking at the Imprezas I commented to him that he should just look at an Outback or Forrester if he really wanted the extra room, rather than get ANTOHER new car that he would end up wanting to trade it later. Dean Fitzgibbons, a sales representativve took us for a test drive in a 2012 Forrester and it was great. My husband winked at me, the fun part was coming up... My husband loves and hates buying new cars, he loves the thrill but hates the haggle and "negotiating" that most dealerships do. In our seven years he is on his 5th car and 4th motorcycle, so needless to say he does this often. Within an 30 minutes with Dean we had signed on the dotted line--it was effortless. There was zero haggle and he treated us with dignity. As we drove away, my husband said we have to go back there when its time for a new car for you.... I have had the same car for 12 years, my parents bought it for me when I went off to college and it had 132,000 miles and was still going strong. BUT my "new car junkie" hubby was constantly trying to get to me to buy a new car... I wont lie and say I hadnt been thinking about it but it just wasnt on the op of my priorities... and seriously, who wants to take on a car payment when they dont HAVE to... So one day in July as we were dropping off the Forrester for service, I started chatting with Dean about the Impreza's and Legacy's. After a test drive and running the numbers (which took about a half hour) he came back with two options: financing and lease-finance. I sat there talking with Dean and Tony (a sales manager) and explained that I was going to wait because being a teacher, I had limited summer income but I would definitely come back in the fall to close the deal. They were kind and understanding--they wanted ME to be comfortable with my decision. That night my husband and I looked at our finances and talked it through and decided we could make it work, but it was my choice. The next day we went back to Freehold to pick up the Forrester and started chatting with Dean while we were waiting for the keys etcetera and I just decided to do it. My husband left to get the dog out and I sat there and bought my very first car all by myself. Dean put me at ease, took care of EVERYTHING from soup to nuts. I never once was nervous about being taken advantage of, it was fabulous. Dean went to so far as to help me pair my iphone to the blue tooth and called me within a few days to make sure I was still happy with the car. I cannot say it enough... THIS DEALERSHIP IS A CUT ABOVE THE REST. More
