She took the time to understand what we were looking for and showed us a number of Escapes on the lot. The pleasant atmosphere extended as we entered the showroom. Everyone was very welcoming and seemed glad to be there. While Yvonne was showing my wife several vehicles in the showroom, her manager, Dmitri, introduced himself and we had a great conversation that began a very satisfying relationship. He clearly understood what we were looking for. Negotiating a car purchase is never fun, but Dmitri and Yvonne were fair and helpful and we are very satisfied with that part of the purchase. As if that weren't enough, "doing the numbers" with Steve Dougherty was a blast! We shared a number of interests and he made the process almost enjoyable. His use of technology to facilitate things was very impressive. I wish the State of New Jersey would catch up with Freehold Ford. The car was in perfect condition when we picked it up and again, Yvonne did a great job orienting us to all its many features. Things didn't stop there. When I stopped by the next morning to drop off the title for our trade it, I was welcomed like an old friend by everyone involved. Great job! We're really glad we switched from VW after nearly 20 years with them. It was like coming home. More

Great experience leasing a Ford Focus Awesome dealership! This my 2nd transaction with Freehold Ford. The first was April 2014 and now this transaction; leasing a Ford Focus for my wife. Awesome dealership! This my 2nd transaction with Freehold Ford. The first was April 2014 and now this transaction; leasing a Ford Focus for my wife. I did not even think of going to another dealer after the great experience I had back in April 2014. Everyone I dealt with; Jackie Spidaletto, Mike Goldstein, and Steve Dougherty are awesome! I have nothing but good things to say about these folks and the dealership. I highly recommend Freehold Ford and they have gained a loyal customer. More

A dealership that still likes to play games with you I was recently in the market to purchase a new vehicle. After doing several months of research, I decided I wanted a 2014 Ford Fiesta hatchback and lo I was recently in the market to purchase a new vehicle. After doing several months of research, I decided I wanted a 2014 Ford Fiesta hatchback and located the exact car I wanted at a different dealership—Fullerton Ford. Being that Fullerton Ford is about 30 miles away from me, I wanted to explore the possibility of a closer dealership getting the vehicle for me. My father did some running around on a Friday. Freehold Ford was his second stop, and he spoke with Yvonne Bermudez, who I just want to point out did nothing wrong in this entire process and is in no way connected to my negative perception of this dealership. She seemed to be genuinely good with her customers. My father was upfront about this being the car I wanted, and the dealership assured him they would be able to get the car since Fullerton Ford was a “sister” dealership. Of course, he did some negotiating on the price—armed with a TrueCar.com estimate—and left the dealership that day with a number signed off on by “Crazy Wally,” whose real name is Walid Elkhouly and is Freehold Ford’s general sales manager. My father couldn’t make a move that day because I was working, but I got the recap that night and slept on what I wanted to do. I made the decision the following day to go through with Freehold Ford. I wanted to test drive a similar vehicle (the same car in a sedan) and was prepared to put a deposit down and get a deal going if I was happy with the ride. I went to Freehold Ford with my father, and the first thing we wanted to do was that test drive. Yvonne was fairly busy, so we did very little dealing with her that day. She still managed to get us hooked up with a Fiesta to test drive, and I liked the drive of the vehicle. At this point, my mind was made up and I was going to buy the car. Unfortunately, before leaving the dealership for the test drive, Dmitry Mandrik was outside and kind of saw us off. I could tell from the start this guy was bad news. When we returned, he was right there to see us back. We left the car there for him and waited inside the dealership, where he eventually approached us and took over the sale. Dmitry is a sales manager with Freehold Ford, so he was there to close the deal. We recapped for him that I wanted the car from Fullerton Ford, that we left with a price close to the TrueCar estimate and we wanted them to get us to the TrueCar price. Granted, I would have taken the number they gave us, but we didn’t see any reason they couldn’t get to the TrueCar price and wanted to see what they could do. The price difference was only $100. We also had the invoice with us that showed “Crazy Wally” giving us the number my father walked out of the dealership with the day before, so we weren’t just making up numbers. Dmitry went off to see what he could do regarding the price, only to return after talking to Walid—or more likely just standing against a wall for two minutes to cook up the BS he was going to come back at us with—to tell us that price was only for yesterday. My father was a car salesman for several years and I’m not an idiot, so this wasn’t going to fly. Almost immediately, Dmitry asked why I liked that particular car so much and offered to take a look around their lot to see what we could find. I wasn’t interested, as we were very open from the beginning that the car I wanted was the one from Fullerton Ford—the one we were assured Freehold could get for us without a problem. Not being suckered into the “only for yesterday” price and not interested in looking through their lot since they didn’t have the car I wanted, my father and I made the decision to get up and leave, perfectly content at this point to make the 40-minute drive to Fullerton Ford to purchase the vehicle directly from them. On our way out, Dmitry was sure to tell us that when we didn’t get the car from Fullerton Ford, we could come back to them. Well, Dmitry, that won’t be necessary. We went to Fullerton Ford a couple of days later and were treated with the utmost professionalism from the second we walked in the door to the very moment I drove my car off the lot. I got the car I wanted for the price I wanted, dealt with an amazing sales and finance staff and didn’t at any point have to deal with any of the games you apparently think are OK to play with people. I would have been perfectly fine with you guys just being upfront in the first place and saying you couldn’t meet the price I wanted. I still wouldn’t have purchased the car from you, but I at least would have respected you for being honest. But to toss out a number signed off on by a manager only to turn it into a one-day price the very next day is beyond shady. It was also a short-sighted move on your part. I’m young enough that I will have a number of future car purchases during my lifetime, of which you will receive none of them—not to mention the sales you won’t get from my family members and friends that will absolutely hear about my experience. Additionally, I have to have my car serviced somewhere and won’t be taking it to Fullerton each time. Luckily, there is another local Ford dealership near me, so I won’t be giving you guys that business either. It wasn’t a total loss going to Freehold Ford, though. I got to use the dealership for a test drive. And after dealing with sleazy salesmen like Dmitry and “Crazy Wally,” I got to move on and meet the wonderful people at Fullerton Ford, who you guys could learn something from about how to treat customers.
