The Martin sales representive was polite, did not smoke or chew gum, and was dressed professionally, and spoke correct english. He treated my wife and daughter politely. The facility and cars test droven were clean. Before driving the vehicles, the different models and options were explained; as well a walk around to look at the car options. I knew very little about the Jeep brand and have been driving Ford products for 30 years. I was not pressured to choose any one car over the other. I had actually came to drive passenger sedans, but picked the Wrangler after learning more about this Jeep product. The car was delivered washed, fueled and I was given contact phone numbers to call in on if anything was wrong with the vehicle. The paperwork was efficiently handled and questions answered accurately. I was also thanked for doing business with them when going out the door to drive away. Since purchase I have been called and emailed about the car by the sales staff to ensure everything is going well. More
I am on my 3rd, personal purchase from Fred Martin, count up the friends and family that I have sent there, I've probably watched 6 or 7 deals go down. Each one was done with honesty, great service, often t up the friends and family that I have sent there, I've probably watched 6 or 7 deals go down. Each one was done with honesty, great service, often times above and beyond to make sure we got the vehicle and terms we needed, and class. I just bought a brand new 2011 Dodge Caliber Rush. On time, and under budget, how often do we hear that? The first hurdle..the car. They didn't have the features I wanted, and thats not an indictment on Fred Martin,...i think they had over 200 Calibers in stock..200! I am one of those guys that isn't a fan of automatic transmission. And I really wanted a Rush with the 5-speed. With the production numbers on the Rush the smallest (a stat I found doing some research on the net prior to purchase), and the the 5-speed numbers even lower, and the end of the model year (i wanted an '11 to qualify for the finance incentives) and i didn't want orange, red or white...Fred Martin or any other dealer within 300 miles had a car to fit my criteria. They did a bit of searching and found a dealer in Grand Rapids willing to trade their 2011 Dodge Caliber Rush 5-speed in Tungsten Metallic, with a sunroof, navigation...which they said they could probably get in in a week. 2 days later i was in my new Caliber. The most impressive thing was after doing all the work they did to locate, and get the car to Barberton, and in order to acheive my finance and payment goals..they still sold the car at a very low price. They were again, a pleasure to deal with,..and I had a blast. More
I purchased my 2006 Dodge Magnum less than 4 months ago. Immediately after purchase, I noticed an issue with my emergency brake. I brought this to the attention of my (then) sales person, who did nothing. Immediately after purchase, I noticed an issue with my emergency brake. I brought this to the attention of my (then) sales person, who did nothing. I took my car for routine service 2-weeks ago and brought up the issue again. Was told they can do nothing unless I can get the car to duplicate the problem. Saturday I could not get my car into gear. Was told cost of repairs (not covered under my extended service contract) would be $135+ tax. I asked them if they looked at my emergency brake issue while the vehicle was in the shop. They had not because the tow truck guy did not write the problem on my envelope -- even AFTER I had brought the issue up (again) with my sales manager when arranging to have the vehicle towed. Received a voicemail this morning from Fred Martin telling me that my left rear emergency brake is not functioning because the lining is separating from the cable. Cost of repairs will be an additional $175+ tax -- which (again) is not covered under my extended service contract. Had Fred Martin service looked at my vehicle during the 1st three months WHEN I ASKED THEM TO, I would not be expected to pay. I think they are dishonest, unloyal, and the level of service offered by their sales staff is abhorable. I owned my previous vehicle for 13 years, so I do my research before I make an investment in a new(er) vehicle. The last thing I need are added worries from purchasing a car from an unreliable dealership. More
i came to this dealership over 4 times to see and speak to a salesmen about a vehicle. and everytime i arrived i waited forever for a salesmen, called me for vehicles that was'nt even present on the lot,l to a salesmen about a vehicle. and everytime i arrived i waited forever for a salesmen, called me for vehicles that was'nt even present on the lot, lied to about receiving a $80 gift card for coming back and test driving a car. i get there and is was only $20 one salesmen left and never came back and left me outside waiting for over 30mins then another told me to come back and test drive a vehicle. i drive all the way to the dealership and then he states to me he cant allow me to drive the because its saturday and the boss would get mad at him then he stated after that he was'nt permitted to show or let me test drive a vehicle on the lot until my girlfriend was present because we where both on the finance papers and then the 3rd excuse was we had to submit another credit check before able to view or test drive a vehicle. this was by far the worst car dealership i have ever been to by far!!!!! i would never refer anyone to this dealership after the was i have been treated the last 4 visits. After doing my homework to research vehicles and prices and securing pre approved financing, I requested an online price quote for the vehicle of my choice. Thinking I had all the details worked out, I spe and securing pre approved financing, I requested an online price quote for the vehicle of my choice. Thinking I had all the details worked out, I spent my evening driving to Barberton, giving the salesman all of my info, and test driving the car of my choice. All of this, only to be told by the manager that the quote would not be honored. Period. No compromise, no help finding another vehicle, no concern for his customer. More
I entered an agreement, in writing, with FMC on 5/27/2011. 6/1/11 Dan, the sales manager, contacted me stating the deal I agreed on was not obtainable. The interest rate I agreed to was going to be raised and the monthly payment I agreed to was also to be raised. I signed paper work agreeing to specific terms and five days later those terms were changed. I was told I could either agree to the new terms or return the vehicle. I don't understand how any business can operate by promising their customers one deal only to turn around and change the original agreement. Clearly they do not care about customer satisfacion, only their bottom line. More
My wife and I needed a car to replace our Cavalier. We wanted a car similar to it. They had several types of cars that were about right. When we decided upon a Cobalt, they had five to select from in our wanted a car similar to it. They had several types of cars that were about right. When we decided upon a Cobalt, they had five to select from in our price range. Not surprising considering how many cars they had on the lot. They handled the sale painlessly. They offered a variety of add-ons, but didn't use the time to press us about them. The biggest surprise was the financing. They found a local credit union (cost $5 to join) and a rate that beat the national lenders and my credit union from when I was a sailor. We tried them first because we had bought our Cavalier (new) from their Chevy dealership. Over the years, we've had two wrecks restored in their Collision Center and various maintenance appointments. They'd always been courteous, did the maintenance on time, no overnights when promised at the end of the day, and handled everything with the insurance companies that fixed the two accidents. When our Grand Vitara wears out, we'll start there. I recommend them to anyone. Especially if you have an accident. That was truly easy, and all our friends told us horror stories about their experiences with accidents so we did not expect any variety of "easy"! Our salesman's name was Todd Craig. He helped a great deal with the cars and was very patient while we test drove four different models and then the one we picked out. It's a big lot so he did a lot of walking too. (He offered a golf cart to get us around, but walking's healthy.) I'm pretty sure anyone would do well with him. More
