I inquired about a pre-owned Sequoia that was for sale. Alex Jackson, Internet Sales Manager, promptly responded to my inquiry even though the vehicle had already been sold. He offered to assist me in my search for a pre-owned SUV and was very cognizant of not being the "annoying sales guy". The communication received from him was enough to show interest on his part, but not enough to be pushy. When I purchased a vehicle from auction with the help of a friend, Alex was still very open to the possibility of Toyota of Charleston purchasing my 2003 Tahoe even though I did not buy a car from him. I brought the Tahoe in on a Tuesday night and left an hour later with a wonderful offer on my Tahoe from a third party that works with the dealership. There was nothing in the transaction for Alex except acting as the middle man and he did this with as much consideration as if he was making the commission himself. I am so very grateful for his assistance in making the sale in a timely and painless manner and have nothing but wonderful things to say about the service I received at Toyota of Charleston. More

During my search for a used Tacoma for my son we went to this dealership. We had previously checked the prices on the internet. We found two trucks we were interested in. When the initial deal paperwork was this dealership. We had previously checked the prices on the internet. We found two trucks we were interested in. When the initial deal paperwork was drawn up, the dealer tried to charge us $26,000 for a used Tacoma which was listed on the website at $21,988. When I informed the salesman about the difference between the price he showed me and the price listed on their website he seemed stunned. He ran back to the floor manager's office and I went outside with my phone and pulled up their site. I guess they forgot you can access the internet from most anywhere now. When the salesman came out again, I showed him the vehicles on the website. He claimed the stock numbers were different. I showed him the stock numbers AND the VINs on the website and the vehicles. They matched. He ran off to the floor manager again. The offered $5000.00 for my trade-in (paid for), then added that back to the price of the truck. When the salesman returned he claimed the additional $5000.00 added to the price was a 'bank fee' resulting from the bank charging the dealership to offer the loan. This is HIGHLY UNETHICAL. This dealership tried to pull the same stunt when I went there in 2002 to buy a new vehicle, but the ownership has changed since then and I thought I'd give the new owner a shot to earn my business. They failed because their questionable business practices haven't changed. I ended up going to Toyota-Scion of North Charleston and purchasing a better vehicle, at a better price and no one tried to BS me. After posting my review I was contacted by Alex Jackson, the internet manager. He seemed reasonable and professional in his valiant efforts to dispel my negative opinion of the dealership. When he explained that in order to get the 'internet price' the customer has to bring in a printout I pointed out the fact that nowhere on the website is this indicated. In my opinion, this is false and misleading advertising, aka the 'bait and switch.' He assured me he would work toward getting that issue taken care of and I take him at his word. Thanks, Alex. I have never met you in person, but I feel comfortable in saying you are the most professional person at that dealership. I received a second call immediately after I hung up from Alex's call. Can't remember that fellow's name, but he was someone in a position of authority who apologized for the bad experience and seemed sincere. Raymond Garrison More
I'd like to thank Chivas Porter, assistant service manager, for being so amazing. He has been taking care of both our vehicles for several years and has never failed to impress. Our truck was towed to manager, for being so amazing. He has been taking care of both our vehicles for several years and has never failed to impress. Our truck was towed to the dealership the night before, and when I called Chivas in the morning with a list of issues that needed his attention, he assured me that everything would be resolved and made me feel so relaxed. When the work was completed, I was not disappointed. Chivas was again the knowledgeable professional who always treats me with respect. In a world where excellent service is a diminishing commodity, Chivas breaks that mold. Thanks so much. I would also like to thank Paul Melnick, technician, for his exceptional mechanical expertise in making both our Toyotas run like tops. He is also extremely patient and never condescending when talking with me about some of the concerns I have had with our vehicles. I really appreciate that. We are completely loyal to both Chivas and Paul and would never consider having either vehicle serviced by anyone else. More
I had my car towed to this dealership after it became disabled on interstate 95. My vehicle breakdown occurred on Sunday afternoon which required an overnight stay until they opened on Monday. On Monday disabled on interstate 95. My vehicle breakdown occurred on Sunday afternoon which required an overnight stay until they opened on Monday. On Monday the problem was identified and the part was ordered. The assistant service manager,Greg, went out of his way to explain the problem and the steps necessary to fix it. He contacted a local car rental company for me before I had a chance to request that service and put me at ease about the repair. The repair work was completed on Tuesday as promised and I was able to continue my trip to Florida. The repair work was done professionally and the service team could not have been better. I have owned 7 Toyotas and this incident is but one of the reasons that I have brand loyalty. By the way, I want to also mention Avon Bailey and Tonya in the sales department for their sales expertise and professionalism. I spoke to both of them at length about the purchase of a new car in the event that my vehicle was going to be too costly to repair. More

Chris Fitzgerald is a gem--as Finance Manager, he is the best you could ever get, if you want to buy a car quickly and in a manner that helps you understand the dozen or more forms that must be completed. This vehicle was for her, and I let her handle most of the selection of vehicle type, color, interior, options, etc. Brian was extremely patient with her as he cautiously led her through the process. We were looking at vehicles that were farthest from the showroom and she had him going back and forth to get answers to her questions and obtain keys to the vehicles she wanted to inspect. He wore out a pair of shoes in the process. In the end my wife is extremely happy with her new Tacoma. Tim Hobson More
