On December 10th, my husband & I walked into Breakaway Honda not really expecting to buy a new car. I just wanted to see the new 2010 CRV's & see what kind of deal they might offer me on my 2007 CRV. David Hagan met me at the door, was friendly, knowledgeable & didn't have a 'pushy' sales attitude. We decided to test drive the 2010 CRV & were impressed with how much easier it handled. When we returned I was able to work up a deal that I could afford. We were introduced to others on the Breakaway Honda team also. My overall experience was pleasant & hassle free. I don't buy cars very often (had my previous car 10 years and the one before that 13), so I don't have a lot of experience at buying new cars. Bud Fitzpatrick was very courteous, not at all pushy, and I believe that he (and the dealership) offered a good price. The price was pretty close to what I thought it should be, and I didn't try to negotiate them down (and that's my problem) so the way I feel is probably my own fault. On the other hand, if they had come in with a higher price initially, maybe I would have negotiated them down to what they offered and I would have felt better. Another factor (again possibly reflecting my lack of experience at car buying) was all the "extras" that they try to see you - exterior protection, prepaid package for routine service, etc. When you're paying tens of thousands of dollars for a car, it doesn't feel good when they want you to spend another couple of thousand. That's a dealership problem, I imagine. But all in all it was a very good experience. They had the car ready in a couple of hours and I was able to drive it home the same day. More
We live on exit 1 and had such a good experience purchasing our 2008 Civic that we decided to come back to look at a CRV. We were not sure whether we would buy one or not, but the no hassle deal and helpfulness of both Bud and the Sales Manager (who's name escapes me) made buying the CRV the natural move. Bud allowed us plenty of time to comb over and drive 3 different vehicles late in the day on a freezing night and ran numbers (when everybody, no doubt, would rather be at home) on all of the vehicles so we we could make the best decision for our family. It was very low pressure and they were both very straightforward and gave us the info we needed. I am a raving fan of Breakaway Honda and would definitely recommend Bud and Breakaway to anyone. More

I have been doing some research on buying a Honda Odyssey EX-L but my wife and I were undecided on the exterior and interior color choices. Two dealerships offered similar deals but Rick Haines of Breakaway Honda provided the most precise quote in writing. However, I did not know what we might receive for my minivan on a trade. So we drove down from Hendersonville and went to CarMax first to find out what they would buy my car for. Then we went nearby to Breakaway Honda and met Rick. He is certainly a pleasant, straightforward person to deal with. Because Breakaway offered the exact same price for a trade, we had a deal. If a person residing in Upstate SC or Western NC is interested in a Honda vehicle, I would strongly recommend contacting Rick Haines at Breakaway Honda. More
