Last year, I took my toyota corolla in for a 60,000 mile check and it ended up costing me $2200! The service people "convinced" me to change my timing belt, water pump and head gasket because "they were go check and it ended up costing me $2200! The service people "convinced" me to change my timing belt, water pump and head gasket because "they were going into the engine anyway". After the service was done, I took my car home. Two days later, my check engine light came on, so I took my car back to Putnam Toyota. They tried to tell me that my gas injector must be faulty, but luckily, I consulted someone else about my check engine light problem-- so I wasn't so guilable this time. It turns out that the mechanic had forgotten to reconnect a hose. Now just this past weekend, my sister took her car into Putnam for a 30,000 mile check and two days later, the check engine light came on. She hasn't taken the car back to Putnum yet, but 2/2 is really poor quality work! More
