My real problem with Fort Mill Ford lies in their practice of advertising prices that contain every single rebate you could 'possibly' qualify for, including vehicle trade-in incentive, and Ford Financing incentive--neither of which I was prepared to use. I feel that the practice of advertising a price in this manner does not allow consumers to compare Ford products in an apples-to-apples manner. Other nearby Ford dealerships do not follow this practice, which reminds me of bait-and-switch (without the switch) or loss-leader (without ever selling a product at a loss). If you put a price in an advertisement, online, or plaster it on a vehicle windshield, that should be the price of the car. Period. Putting three-letter proprietary acronyms with an asterisk to indicate that you have to qualify for every rebate to get that price is deceptive. Other area dealers do not follow this practice, and I would be much more likely to send friends and family to Clinton Family ford or Keith Hawthorne Ford, based on how they treated me. The only reason I ultimately purchased my F150 from Fort Mill, despite their horrible sales practices, was because they had the truck I wanted, with the options I wanted, in inventory--and I couldn't wait to purchase. More
