Vehicle Maintenance 1 week ago while driving my 04 Murano, it began to stall. Had it tested and determined it was the alternator. The vehicle now has to be jumpstarted in 1 week ago while driving my 04 Murano, it began to stall. Had it tested and determined it was the alternator. The vehicle now has to be jumpstarted in order to start. So to prevent any further electrical issues I had it towed to Five Star Nissan at 0745 on Saturday, October 13, 2018. Explained to the service representative that the alternator was bad and needed a replacement. At approximately 0930, the service representative confirmed that the alternator was indeed bad and would cost $1300+. She also mentioned that some additional maintenance was required i.e. new battery, valves leaking, spark plugs needing replacement and all this could be done to include the cost of the alternator replacement for about $3200+. I question the cost of the alternator replacement, but agreed to proceed with its replacement. The service representative says they could not perform the work on Saturday, she needed to order the part and the work would be done some time Monday evening. Five Star Nissan doesn't have alternators in stock?? I felt as though this was a deliberate attempt to keep my vehicle understanding that it would not start without a jump. I'm now stranded without a vehicle. The cost for replacement is "outrageous", the average cost for a Nissan Murano alternator replacement is between $576 and $892. Labor costs are estimated between $176 and $444 while parts are priced between $400 and $448. I had taken my vehicle to Five Star Nissan and experienced the best service when under warranty, however each time I have visited for non-warranted service there have been challenges. During a routine service visit, I was told I needed Motor Mounts replaced, which I didn't. During another visit I was told I shouldn't drive the car because it would catch on fire from an oil leak. Needless to say my auto service experience has been questionable. The service representative is to contact me first thing Monday, 15 October with part confirmation status and shuttle transportation. Unfortunately going forward I will seek an independent auto service agency for repair service. Thanks for your time. More

Marcus & the service team are AWESOME I have purchased 3 vehicles from Five Star Nissan. Process is ALWAYS great given the purchase stress buying a new car brings! I have used their service department for the past 6 years. Marcus is by far the best with customer service, promptness, information, all of the above! Marcus has serviced my cars for 12 years. I wouldn't trust anyone else to handle my car care other than Marcus and the team he manages at 5 Star Nissan. They are always able to fit me in, some days last minute and I have never waited more than an hour for my car to be serviced. I called Marcus the Thursday before Labor Day needing last minute service at 3:30, thinking with the holiday it wouldn't be doable. Marcus got me in THAT DAY by 4:30 and I was out of there by 5pm! Thank you to Marcus and the 5 star service staff for always being reliable and awesome! They are what keeps me coming back to 5 Star Nissan! More
