Everything was smooth from the start. The sales people I dealt with as well as the finance person were amazing. We talked to Wade about buying a new jetta, he was very nice and kind, not you average pushy salesman. we ended up not purchasing the car due to other reasons. The finance guy was fantastic, but I am really upset with the sales guy (Leon Johnson). He lied, and omitted information that related to how much I would pay in the end. He also told stories and bragged abou the sales guy (Leon Johnson). He lied, and omitted information that related to how much I would pay in the end. He also told stories and bragged about how many cars he sells a month, as well as how he and 2 other guys are so much better than everyone else who works there. I'm most upset about the lie related to the interest rates. Edit: They had multiple "Optional charges", meaning they are not required by law, but did not make it clear they were optional. I ended up spending $3,000 more than I had to, all because I was watching them under a microscope. More
After 20 years and nearly two handfuls of vehicles purchased from Fitz, I would highly suggest you search for your next vehicle elsewhere, primarily because of there service department, here are my to purchased from Fitz, I would highly suggest you search for your next vehicle elsewhere, primarily because of there service department, here are my top three reasons: 1. Lack of customer loyalty / service 3. Sexism 4. Dishonest Where it began... I purchased my first vehicle from Fitz Annapolis in 2002. I had a great experience all the way through, and Fitz proved themselves beyond this experience where I purchased my second, third and fourth vehicles, in fact, I have only purchased one other vehicle from another dealer. Fast forward to my married days and I introduced my wife to Fitz. Unfortunately, things started to fall apart for fitz when we noticed very clearly that their service department would most ALWAYS give my wife a difficult time, trying to oversell, or simply give her a difficult time taking advantage of the rental car option for fitzway cardholders. This upset me because I was very rarely treated with the same disrespect, and it showed a major level of sexism from their staff. Fast forward to today... We moved closer to the Frederick location several years ago and again and purchased 2 vehicles from this location, we had a great experience with the sales team as well, but things fell apart in the service department. Today was my “final straw”. I took my car (15k miles) for an oil change / tire rotation and since it was under warranty asked them if they were able to correct a couple small things that had been going on since we purchased the vehicle a year ago. I thought these should be simple fixes (squeaking rear windows, rattling plastics, etc) so it would be super easy to fix. I also made it very clear NOT to spend time in diagnostics if I would end up being charged, but if they were able to identify these items (how long does it take to roll down a window and hear the squeak?) to please remedy them under warranty. Upon arriving to pick-up my vehicle, I was told they were unable to find any the minor issues I had mentioned and were charging me for looking into these items. WHAT!? I told the advisor (James) that I clearly stated NOT to spend time diagnosing these items if it would cost - but further, why should a warranty concern end up costing the customer money - it shouldn't. All that said, while the cost was relatively insignificant (~$200), the principal of the matter is what got me fired up. And if this was happening at this level, what would happen if you had a major issue – I’m not confident they wouldn’t try to take as much from you as they could get. Acting against a customer’s direct request and then charging them for doing so is wrong and has eroded the final bit of trust we had with this service department. More
