Honesty is something I've never expected from a salesman but Gary kept me informed without being pushy, always followed though with what he promised and never over promised me anything he did not deliver me. When I picked up my car, the paper work and financing was handled professionally and then the service department did a great job in a timely manner of completely some extra things I had done to the car. I tried buying my new Veloster in Atlanta, GA where I live but was given a complete run around. I started looking on the Internet, sent a request to Fitzgerald Clearwater Hyundai(I sent other requests as well), Gary responded immediately (it was 10-15 days later before I heard from any other dealership), he told me he could get the exact car I wanted and when I could have it, and he delived the car 1 week earlier then expected. My experience started with a phone call to salesperson Leslie Gray at Fitzgerald Hyundai. The reason I called Fitzgerald is that my sister had been polling Hyndai owners for the last few months and they a Leslie Gray at Fitzgerald Hyundai. The reason I called Fitzgerald is that my sister had been polling Hyndai owners for the last few months and they all had great things to say about Fitzgerald. She was literally asking strangers who sang the praises of the dealership. I was interested in an Elantra Touring model with some specific extras for my lifestyle. Leslie immediately provided information about a couple of specific vehicles. She provided the prices and features. When I asked if it was negotiable she said at Fitzgerald they do things differently - the price is the price. She also said they would buy my trade at fair market value whether or not I bought a car from them. Refreshing to hear - but you never know until you walk in the door. I live in Tampa so I decided to test drive the car at local dealer - Courtesy Hyundai. I liked the car and figured I'd give them a shot at selling it to me. I told them I only had about 1-1/2 hours, the person who came with me had a time deadline. I told them the price I got from Fitzgerald and what I expected for a trade based on my research of blue book and other used car sites. Courtesy did the usual "back and forth" with the "manager." Getting me to state what I wanted and then sign that I would do the deal if they could do the deal. I did and they "came back" with something different. They offered me $8500 for my car and said they were doing me a big favor since it was only worth $6500. The price for the new car was higher than I wanted. After two hours they were still playing games. I decided to leave and let them get back to me. They tried to get me to take the car home so I would have to come back. I told them I would not take the car home - if the came up with the right deal I would buy if they didn't I wouldn't. They don't need to try to trick me to get me back in the dealership. I left and they called me back roughly 6 times with partial information The next day I went to Fitzgerald. Leslie showed me the two Elantra Touring models that we discussed and the prices were exactly what she quoted on the phone. My car was evaluated and I was offered $8500 as the fair market value for the car (Courtesy lied to me). Within 20 minutes I had concrete information regarding my purchase and leasing options and made my decision to lease a beautiful black Elantra Touring model. Within 2 hours I drove my brand new car off the lot. Why did I rate them as great for every category? Easy - they told the truth from the minute they answered the phone. They didn't play games and gave me a great deal. I don't want to haggle, I want to know the price and decide if I want to pay it. I love my new car and I love Fitzgerald Auto Malls. I regularly recommend them and my sales rep Leslie Gray to anyone who asks me about my car. So far I've told at least 10 people. This is our third purchase with Fitz. In each case, we were very satified with the salesman, the price, the car, and the service afterward. I did do my "homework" and knew what we wanted and what the list prices were. I did shop at other dealers and I did refer to Consumers Report. I was pleased, and relieved, that Fitz offered a better trade in offer and a better price than others. Another important factor was that Fitz, Joe Sullivan, our saleman, clearly wanted to give us the vehicle that we wanted. Others clearly just wanted to sell us something, usually off the lot, just to make a deal. And then, their prices and trade in offers were not as good. Furthermore, everything, including financing, happened just as Joe said. I always would have a concern that there would be an "oops, we just can't do that". But, that didn't happen! The sale, the delivery, and the quality of the vehicle were exactly as expected. All of this made the purchase much less stressful for us.
