I purchased a certified used 2011 Hyundai Sonata and the sales process was ok. What I wasn't crazy about was the quality of the car itself. It went through inspection and was placed on the lot for sale an sales process was ok. What I wasn't crazy about was the quality of the car itself. It went through inspection and was placed on the lot for sale and had 2 (one was very significant on the front driver side fender) scratches in the paint. Fitz gave me an IOU to get the fender repainted and the other spot touched up since the service department had closed. I also noticed that the car was not detailed the way it should have been. When I took it home I cleaned it properly. I took it back to Fitz a few days later to get the paint fixed and that place is like an assembly line. The customer service was ok, nothing great, just very busy. After that, within 2 weeks of owning the car I noticed that there was a blown speaker in the Infinity Sound System, the front shocks rattled and the sunroof leaked! Luckily the car is still under factory warranty as I don't live near Fitz and have been taking it to a closer Hyundai dealership. But I have to say that I am not left with any confidence in buying a Hyundai Certified pre-owned car. More
Being a single woman is a concern for me when shopping for a vehicle. I dreaded venturing out to shop for a car and that is one of the reasons I held on to my car for 13 years this last time. I feel like car salesman are trying to take advantage of me, however, I Immediately felt comfortable in the environment at Fitz. My salesman, Bobby Cales was really great. I never ever felt pressured or pushed into something I did not want. I told Bobby what I was looking for, he found the appropriate vehicle, a lovely Santa Fe. He explained all the features before we went for a test drive and asked if I had any questions. Most importantly, he was courteous and he listened to me when I told him I wanted to wait until the next day to make my decision so I would not have the "what the heck did I just do?" panic attack....and he respected my choice. The next day I woke up, and felt good about making the commitment to buy the vehicle and I called him. It was Sunday (and I might add,his day off). He meet me at the dealer to wrap up the paperwork. Everyone at Fitz was very nice and I felt, sincere. I also want to thank Marlin for "easing my pain" and for taking in my relic of a car without laughing (at least not in ear shot). Thank you again Bobby for listening to me and respecting my request to wait until the next day to make my decision. I can say I will be buying my next car from Fitzgerald's and will recommend this dealer to my family and friends. More
After much research on used SUV's, I decided on a Honda CR-V. Fitz had one on their lot that I went to look at. Test drove it and bought it. Bobby was very helpful. I was told that they put new tires on the front, changed the oil, flushed the transmission fluid (that surprised me) and went through a whole checklist of items to assure a quality vehicle. I then dealt with Alan (?) in the finance department. All business, but his appearance was less than professional. In fact, the whole atmosphere seems laid-back. This is not necessarily a bad thing, just part of my review. Bobby said the stain on the headliner would be worked on and also that the gas tank would be filled before I left. They weren't. I drove the vehicle home without incident, but less than a week later things began to unravel. It wouldn't start. I checked the battery and to my utter astonishment there was no water in it. I added water, jumped it and it started. I had to get a new battery. The driver's side windshield wiper did not make contact with about 1/3 of the windshield. You can imagine how much fun that was in the Florida rain. Bought new wiper. Then I noticed that the tires they replaced on the front of the vehicle did not match those on the rear. I was able to trade them in at Discount Tire and now ($185 later) have 4 that match. It gets real good now: There was approximately 2.5 qts. too much oil in the crankcase! That's as bad as not enough. The oil was black and there was a Nissan oil filter on it so I doubt if they did an oil change. The air and cabin air filters were filthy. It will take a while before I have any confidence that this vehicle will not leave me stranded somewhere. Needless to say, I know they did not flush the tranny fluid. Maybe that's a good thing. Well now I just can't wait to see what's next. In conclusion, I really don't know if the Sales Department is aware of what is going on in the (Lack of) Service Dep't. I will not buy from again or recommend Fitzgerald. More

This was overall the best experience I have had purchasing a new car. Phil was not pushy. I was able to drive four different vehicles. I didn't feel like I was being pushed into buying a car. My overall experience was great because it was beyond my expectations of what customer service is all about. My immediate sales person, Vadim, took the time out to address/answer any concerns or questions I expectations of what customer service is all about. My immediate sales person, Vadim, took the time out to address/answer any concerns or questions I had thoroughly throughout my entire buying experience inlcluding my first test drive which was in March, and my purchase date which was in May, as well as even after I purchased my vehicle. I was referred to Vadim by a family member who had previously bought two vehicles from him, and also had a great expereince as well. I would go to him again in the future because I felt comfortable and at ease when purchasing my vehicle, and he made sure all my questions were answered without making me feel pressured or rushed. Every staff member that I came in contact with, including the finance person, the employees in the service department and the manager, were extremely friendly and helpful. I would definately recommend Fitzgerald Clearwater Hyundai to any future buyers because you get great service, honest employees, and friendly staff. More
