Service department ruined it for me When I arrived the salesman I had was very knowledgable as well as helpful. I bought the car and was pursuaded to add a 1700$ warranty, the car only had 26k on it but at 5 years old the factory warranty had expired. It was odd that it wasn't "certified" with such low miles, if nissan stands behind their product, they should've certified it. Well two weeks later I was back at the dealership for an issue, the manual says bring it in for service when this "tpms" light flashes for a minute and stays on..not fun on a road trip when it happens 8 times! I brought it in and asked for an oil change as well, 3 days later-"nothing wrong with your car,no codes and we couldn't duplicate it" so I pick up my car, and see on the paperwork that there was no oil change done, service manager tells me "oh we changed it for free, and just did no paperwork on it and we didn't put a new sticker on the windshield" really?? Screams liability issues here, red flag. So a kid comes out and puts a new sticker in the window and says.."oh yea I changed the oil with no paperwork asking me to and I forgot to put on a sticker" ...ok..not a good feeling. I leave the dealership, "tpms" flashes again..and again..and once again, I call them again..take It in..again, they change the oil again so they have paperwork, and once again..no codes..nothing they can do. Sm says it's a sensor going out, there's 4...have to wait til it brakes completley to fix. Really? So I deal with the flashing. Ext day I'm driving there's a loud squeak in rear with every bump in the morning, I take it in..again ..explain the issue, get a call back in a day.."can't duplicate sorry" are these guys actually certified mechanics? So I call a DIFFERENT nissan dealership, sm there tells me "it's the rear sway bar bushings, nissan put out a service bulletin for that car in 2011" really?? And findlay nissan couldn't figure this one out? I had to. I spent 30 seconds on google and found that bulletin. So I call chase at findlay..guess what? NOT COVERED BY MY 1700$ warranty even though nissan says it's defective and Only fix is to replace!!! Chase said I had to deal with the LOUD squeak until the bushings brake!!! Leaving me driving a 20k squeaking car and dash light flashing nissan maxima that I've owned 2 months! Now if I noticed the squeak on a test drive...it would have been fixed to make the deal happen, so you know..this hassle from chase, is over a 14$ part. But it's the LABOR that costs so much. However I build muscle cars for a living..a sway bar..10 minutes to fix on a lift. I'd buy from my sales guy there again, Seth there was a great guy, even the finance guy was great. but I'd drive far far away to have it serviced and avoid the dealership like the plague after the sale. Based on my experience with chase I traded the car in and bought a brand new accord, after owning the nissan 2 months. If they would have fixed the car I'd have kept it. But nobody wants to drive a squeaking car when they JUST purchased it. More
