I have bought 4 cars from the Fields Auto Group .. 1 Infiniti and 3 Volvos. Since my first purchase at Fields Volvo more than 10 years ago, I have never even considered going to any other dealer. I know from my dealings with Fields Volvo that they stand behind their cars and their service. They are an honest and reputable partner with which to do business. They always deliver on time and do what they have promised. I wish more companies were like them. My most recent experience was the purchase of my new XC60 from Fields Volvo, with Roger Martinez as my sales consultant. Roger is the perfect sales person for me -- he is extremely knowledgeable, honest and patient. He answered all of my numerous questions and he explained things about the 3 models that I was considering very well. He never pressured me. I have come in numerous times to have my new car hand washed and Roger always comes over to see how I am and to see if I have any questions about the car. He has patiently explained the GPS and phone system to me (a few times!) and he always wants to be sure that I am thrilled with my car (I am!!) Roger epitomizes what it means to be Customer Focused. A little side story -- Shortly after I bought my XC60, I was looking for a (much less expensive) car for my daughter. I called Roger for his opinion and he again was extremely helpful and his wealth of knowledge helped us make the right decision for my daughter's car. Even though he was not going to benefit from that purchase, he spent a lot of time with me and I felt as though a good friend was giving me great advice. I truly appreciate all of the help Roger has given me – both with my car purchase and my daughter’s. I have recommended Roger and Fields Volvo to many of my friends. I can't imagine buying a car from anyone except Roger. More
This is our second certified Volvo purchase; the first from Fields Volvo. We reviewed prices and availability for a number of weeks from all the Chicago-land Volvo dealers and Fields had the best selecti from Fields Volvo. Although we live nearly 60 miles away, it was worth the drive. As we had already done research ahead of time, we were fairly knowledgeable of what we were looking for and what we expected to spend. The car was clean and appears in good condition. Steve and Maria were both accommodating during the sales process. We were slightly disappointed after less than a week when our low tire pressure indicator came on. After filling up the tire and having the indicator come on again after a day, we realized there was obviously a problem with the tire. Rene Chavez (Sales Manager) happened to call me that night to ask about our sales experience, so I mentioned the tire issue (as well as an intermittent lock issue and a missing bulb). He had the service department call me that night and with Rene's help, they went out of their way to make sure my schedule was accommodated for a service appointment. The service staff, including Chris O'Toole, were very helpful and professional. I was provided a loaner car and the work was completed the same day. Rene also made a point to meet with me to make sure everything was taken care of. Everyone truly seemed to go out of their way to turn what could have been a frustrating situation (being that it was a new car for us) into a positive one. More

The atmosphere was very relaxing. The showroom and the waiting area were very clean. There was no hard sell which made it easy to discuss purchasing the car. Excellent Volvo dealership. No problems at any stage of process. Steve worked with us to get the car with the color / options we wanted. Steve (and sales manager Rene) were very helpful, patient and fair during the purchased process. Our salesperson, Steve Kramer of Fields Volvo in Highland Park, was the most competent sales representatives we have ever worked with. Most of all, he was extremely generous of his time in making sure that Park, was the most competent sales representatives we have ever worked with. Most of all, he was extremely generous of his time in making sure that we understood all of our options and later to orient us to our new car. We had visited other Volvo dealerships in Metro Chicago but returned to Fields because of our initial meeting with Steve and because of the very high Internet ratings for Fields. In summary, we would highly recommend Steve Kramer and Fields Volvo to our friends and family. We are exceptionally pleased in every way with our purchase of a 2010 Volvo S80. More

We came to this dealer to purchase a new car and had a very pleasant experience. Roger Martinez was extremely helpful and friendly. He was thorough and paid great attention to detail. This was one of the worst car buying experiences of my life.My wife and I are loyal volvo customers and in fact bought our current volvo from this dealership when in was know as Highland Park Volvo. Due to this we were excited to return for the purchase of another vehicle. My wife and I wasted two hours waiting to speak to the finance manager about purchasing a new xc60. Once she was finished talking to a previous customer for over two hours while knowing we were waiting with our child she was exceptionally dismissive We were told that we were trying buy a car that she thought was too expensive for us after telling us we technically COULD afford the car. Our credit score is in the mid 600's and we have an annual salary over $200,000.The only incentive we were given was customer loyalty of $500 after taxes (because it is a popular car: we were told), and told to look at purchasing a less expensive car. The finance manager was extrememly condescending at times saying "I'm just asking for more of a down payment, its not like I'm personally going to spend that money." When we said ok, we will then defer and wait to purchase she asked "What are you waiting for/" and then suggested we just get a less expensive car for 2 years and then trade it in 2-3 years from now for what we want. I believe it is common knowledge that trading in a used car for a new car especially if the care has not been paid off can be a risky proposition. We contacted another dealership in Schamburg after leaving and were astounded!!! We were given the information we needed, were told about the customer loyalty incentive from the beginning which happen to be $1000 not $500, and generally were treated with greater respect and consideration. While we understand that everyone has bad days, we have never been treated in such a blatantly disrespectful manner. We do want to be fair and mention that our sales associate was excellent. The floor manager was excellent and appropriate. Our dissatisfaction does not lie with them or the facilities. More
