feeling comfortable spending a quarter of a million dollars I previously purchased a 458 spider at Ferrari FT Lauderdale and I was talked into selling it buy a. broker to a person in North Carolina. I took him to Ferrari to do the PPI on the car and ended up speaking with Hank Carpenter who could not have been more helpful and he bent over backwards for this guy and was not even making any money. Hank handed me his business card which by the way was the coolest card I have ever seen. Told Hank I would be in touch because again I regretted selling my 458. About 8 months past and I got that itch again so I called Hank and asked him what he had in a 488gtb he told me he would call me and let me know. On Wednesday afternoon I went to the dealership and found the car of my dreams a bright yellow 488gtb it was exactly what I was looking for. Hank greeted me as if we were the best of friends I was made to feel important and totally respected. He wanted me to take it for a test drive but he was closing a deal with another customer so he had someone else take me for my test drive, I fell in love with the car. It was late in the day and they were getting ready to close so I told Hank that I need to discuss this with my wife, he didn't pressure me into anything and told me to take my time, so I did. I called him when I woke up the next morning and convinced the wife that you only live once, so it was a go. Rick and Hank called me and we made a deal on the car and I explained that I would need to get it done that day, Hank had the dent guy come in at 1 pm and take out a ding he told me it was his day off but he still came in to get the deal done. When I got there at 5 pm it was like Hank was as excited as I was he could not have been more accommodating I walked the showroom looking at all the cars like a kid in the candy store. I went to finance where I was greeted by Emilio who remember me from my 458 purchase he even had a picture of my car on his phone because it was a beautiful 458. Emilio was also great he took his time and again didn't pressure me into anything I didn't need. Done I'm getting ready to go thru the car and Hank comes out with a bag of swag it was very cool. Went thru the car and I was on my way before getting home Hank called to ask what I thought told him it was great. I called Hank on a Sunday after reading about him in the ferrari chat forums regarding Florda dealerships. He picked up the phone and we chatted for a few minutes about a "new" car they just received. Hank got back to me the next day with details. On Tuesday, I sent over a deposit to hold the car while Hank got me information and pictures on the car. I actually flew out to Florida (from California) on Saturday and purchased the car. Hank is exceptionally passionate about Ferrari and was very responsive to my questions and made me comfortable about buying a car out of state. Having gone through this experience, I would not have any hesitation of buying another car from Hank/Ferrari FFl sight unseen. Rick is the sales manager. He's a little more direct/to-the-point and can come across a little indifferent and disconnected on the phone. In person, he opens up and is easy to talk to, while maintaining his management swagger.
