I unfortunately discovered 2K miles over warranty that replacing the headlight bulb to a 2007 GMC Acadia pretty much requires you to visit a dealership, which is complete crap as it's a way for GM to funn replacing the headlight bulb to a 2007 GMC Acadia pretty much requires you to visit a dealership, which is complete crap as it's a way for GM to funnel service revenue to their dealers. What should cost $15 in parts and 5 minutes of time is instead $100 in labor costs from a dealer and 2 hours in the waiting room. Anyways, the reason for my issues with this dealership is the way they handled the situation. First, I contacted the dealer I acquired the vehicle from (a friend of mine owns a dealership over 200 miles from my house so couldn't use them for this simple replacement) who specifically told me it should take .6 hours of the "Labor Time Guidelines" to replace the headlamp and its done by going through the wheel well of the vehicle. So, if they charge $100 per hour for labor, replacing the headlight bulb would be $60 (excluding parts). My wife contacted Tom (I think thats his name in the service area) who said he couldn't quote the work over the phone as his technician must see the vehicle first. Are you kidding me? He also said they will take off the bumper to get to the headlight. When my wife informed him we did our own research and found you go through the wheel well, he back peddled a little but still refused quote the cost of replacing the headlight bulb. Given the proximity of their dealership to our house, we still decided to use them. The end result was paying too much for the service. We'll never use these guys again. More
I went in for my first car. I had a budget of 6,000 out the door. Most dealerships had nothing to offer. However, this one had a nice Oldsmobile Alero. However, it had some rust and some problems. They pro the door. Most dealerships had nothing to offer. However, this one had a nice Oldsmobile Alero. However, it had some rust and some problems. They promised to fix the rust and I quote "best car painter." They said it would look really good. However, they only got rid of some of the rust and it did not meet my expectations. I let this go as I realized it was a used car. Next, I noticed a crack in the windshield. They would not replace it. As my mom tried to talk to them, the sales manager was rude to her. He was like "do you want to buy a new car". My Mom was explaining how it was my first new car that I was paying for. He said "it is a used car you get what you get." This made me and my mom extremely angry. However, we test drove it for the second time as that is most important. When I took it out for my second test drive (this being the third test drive and the day I was suppose to buy the car), the turn signals stopped working in the middle. This happened during my second test drive. They promised it would be fixed. Eric told me that he drove it personally and it worked fine. That is what really made us say no. A new barely experienced sixteen year old driver with no turn signals on Grand River how lovely? Cosmetic issues they did bad but with no turn signals is just not good. Not only couldn't they fix the problems, they lied to my face, and they did nothing to make it better. The only positive outcome from this is my mom was able to get her check back from the non obligation deposit. As we left one of the managers talked to Eric (my salesmen) asking if he should call the other people for that Oldsmobile Alero. They already had it sold after I turned it down how satisfying? I feel bad for the people buying it. Why would a dealership sell a piece of junk where the turn signals don't work. We really brought them down in price to $6,000 out the door where it was originally selling for $1,000 more. I strongly suspect they knew the signals were not working so they could get more money from other buyers. Long story short, they are liars who have terrible service. More
Absolutely the worst dealership I've ever been to for service. I took my car in for some cosmetic issues in the steel. After 4 months of promises for a call back I finally got in touch with an engineer service. I took my car in for some cosmetic issues in the steel. After 4 months of promises for a call back I finally got in touch with an engineer at the Milford Proving Grounds. They contacted the dealership and it turned out they "never had a record of the complaint". Now it is 6 months after that experience and I decided to give them another chance for some bad rotors on my 34k mile car. They told me it wasn't covered under warranty. I called another dealer and they told me it was as long as the brake pads were less than 20% worn. I called Marty Feldman back and they told me the other dealer was probably lying. Not sure why someone would offer the warranty when it wasn't applicable. Marty Feldman is absolutely without doubt the worst dealership I've ever been to for service. Unfortunately for them I won't step foot in the sales room now either. More

First I want to say that I am very disappointed with most dealerships with service. This is not the first dealership I ran into this situation. How ever this is the first time I found this site and I hope dealerships with service. This is not the first dealership I ran into this situation. How ever this is the first time I found this site and I hope everyone use this site so more people can be more informed and hold these dealerships accountable for their actions. I am sure I am not the only person that feels that they are getting ¡K.. (well you know what I mean) when we take our vehicle in for a repair. Probably one of the reasons most people hate to take their vehicles to dealers is $300 to replace one fog lamp and a side marker¡K (please this was another dealership not Marty Feldman, just stating a point that it only cost you $5 for the bulbs and an extra for each bulb and less than 15 min. Yes I can do this but I am busy so one would think if I drop the car off and just have the dealer swap few bulbs and I just pick up the car after work and pay them $30 for it¡K but wishful thinking) Sadly I have yet found a decent dealership that I can trust. Well the reason I took my car in for a repair is there is some noise issue coming from the serpentine belt. I don¡¦t know what part was the problem, but I had some idea. I work for an automotive company and have some knowledge on vehicles. I wish I had room, tools and time to work on the car myself, but unfortunately I can¡¦t. I don¡¦t mind taking my car in for a repair as long as it¡¦s reasonable. I understand we all have to make money. I dropped off my car at the dealer the night before. Got the call next day from the service and told me the problem was a Harmonic Balancer was wearing out the belts and possibly the tensioner pulley. So to replace everything the initial price is some where around $1200. First being that this vehicle is 1999 model year and that the serpentine belts on these vehicles are pretty much lifetime. Even with little wear they can go almost over 200k miles. So really don¡¦t need to replace the belt. So after a little discussing with the service advisor he said well let me check and call you back how much just to change the harmonic balancer. They are putting it down for 8hr labor service and $238 dollars for the harmonic balancer. I check the part service site and the retail price for the part is $162 and about 4.3hr is the standard work. The service adviser says that he has a sheet showing him that they need to drop the cradle, remove this and that. I look at the service manual it says nothing about dropping the cradle and the only big thing they need to remove is the power steering gear and the starter so they can have room to remove the Harmonic Balancer. At the end they come back to me with $760+ price tag for everything. This is the latest occurrence, last time they wanted to charge me $700+ for changing brake pads and sand down the rotors. The only reason I went back to them was I had another car that was under warrantee and they seem to be very nice. But I guess when it comes to your car out of warrantee it¡¦s a whole different world. I can¡¦t help but to wonder if even the Harmonic Balancer is really the problem. I am no expert but I do know some stuff about cars, now I just have to wonder how many people they try pull a fast one on who¡¦s car is out of warrantee. In fact now I am not even sure if I really need to change the Harmonic Balancer. More
