Giving a one star review, but I was equally to blame. I am not car savvy. I didn't know the right questions to ask. Also unable to take someone knowledgeable about cars. I thought I was getting a good deal and was afraid I'd lose the car I'd been searching for. Drove 3 1/2 hours to get the car. It seemed ok. Didn’t go for a long test drive as I don’t live anywhere near Chicago and was afraid of getting lost in a bad neighborhood and wanted to get out of there quickly to avoid bad traffic. I signed papers that I was buying the car “as is”. Drove 2 blocks to fill up the tank for the 3 1/2 hour drive home only to discover I couldn’t open the gas hatch. Lucky for me, my sister and I together got the gas hatch open so I didn’t run out of gas on the way home. My son found a missing spring in the gas hatch and fixed it for me. While the CarFax was clean my son showed me that the car has actually been in an accident. I also have to fix the dial that adjusts where the air blows as it is also broken. Wonder what will be next. While these guys were really friendly and acted like they cared, they didn’t. They could have been honest and disclosed the issues so I could have made an informed decision. I should have shopped smarter but I believe they knew the car had issues and were probably laughing at me as I drove it off the lot. More

This has been the best auto shopping experience I have ever had. Joe, the owner & Guillermo, my salesman both went above & beyond in my purchase of a replacement car that had given me 300,000 plus miles, ever had. Joe, the owner & Guillermo, my salesman both went above & beyond in my purchase of a replacement car that had given me 300,000 plus miles, But finally rested in peace. They found me a exact replacement, same model, same color even with 60,000 miles & then fitted it out with new A/C & new tires. I flew in from St. Louis To Chicago, O'Hare to pick it up sight unseen. Joe had me picked up at the airport with my new car & threw me the keys to test ride. PERFECT VEHICLE ! Looked like new. They had detailed to almost a new car. Interior was nicer than a new car. He was a man of his word on price, NO SURPRISES. Except when it came to the paperwork, He removed $200. from the price for my plane ticket into town. Where was this guy when I was purchasing new cars in the past ? He understood I was retired & on a Soc. Security Fixed Income & He gave the best deal of my life. I spent hours after the sale just talking to these friendly guys that made me feel like a friend, Not just a customer. Could have spent the day, But had to start back to St. Louis. The next morning he called to see if all was fine & I got the deal he promised & I was happy with my new car. When I need a car, Fairway will be my first call. Professional, Excellent, Fair Dealing, Friendly, & Honest would be my review of Joe, Guillermo, & his mechanic in the back room at Fairway Auto. THANKS, Robert McDermott More
