I've purchased two cars from Fairway in the last year - one for my teenager and one for myself. I was very satisfied with the sales process and the quality of their cars and trucks. Since purchasing, I'v one for my teenager and one for myself. I was very satisfied with the sales process and the quality of their cars and trucks. Since purchasing, I've had all of my service work done at Fairway as well. I have been completely satisfied and recommend them to all of my friends. More
I bought my first used vehicle from Fairway Motors in 2008.I bought a 2004 Ford Expedition from them and had no problems from that vehicle and had it financed for three years and paid it off in October 2 2008.I bought a 2004 Ford Expedition from them and had no problems from that vehicle and had it financed for three years and paid it off in October 2011. I decided to go back to them since they treated me right the first time and trade my Expedition off which i had a clear title in my hand and trade it for a more economical vehicle that is better on gas mileage than my SUV. So on Dec 26 2011 my wife and i went to Fairway Motors to look to buy another vehicle from Fairway. We saw a 2007 Nissan Maxima and so we went to the sales office and spoke with Clay a salesman whom we bought the Expedition from & said we would like to test drive the Nissan, So Clay said no problem but said it would be a few minutes because one of his salemans was fixing to drive to Houston in it to purchase more vehicles at a car auction and that he would just take all of his stuff out and drive another vehicle. Clay told just to wait inside and when he unloaded the car that they would drive it around to the sales office for us to test drive it. So we waited about 15 minutes and they brought to us and left the car running. We came outside and test drove it about 10 miles and returned with it. It ran good, looked good, sounded good, No visible signs of anything that we seen. So we decided we would take it. They asked me if i wanted to trade my 2004 Expedition in as a down payment and i said yes so their mechanic drove it and said it was in excellent condition, We told them just three month ago i paid a $1000,00 for a tune-up on it and that the tires were less than 1 year old and showed them the reciepts for tires and tune-up. They told me that they would give me $4500.00 for my vehicle. We made the deal then signed all the paperwork and we drove off the lot, Satisfied until we got home and turned the engine off. No problems at that point but a little while later my wife went outside to crank the vehicle up to show her Daddy her new car and when she cranked it up it begin to smoke most terriblly. The car smoked like a diesel engine for about 3 minutes and then finally stopped. So she drove it down the road and it did not smoke while driving it but just as you turn engine off and crank it back up it would start smoking real bad again. So we called and spoke to Eddie and he said he would let me talk to the mechanic, and when the mechanic got on the phone he told me that all that smoking was a additive that they put in the engine to flush the system out and it should burn off after driving it about 200 miles. He said if it continues to smoke after the 200 miles to bring it in and that they would change the oil again and that should stop the smoking. So we drove the 200 miles and it still smoked bad. My wife would drive to church and when she would crank the car up it was so embarassing it would just totally smoke everyone out with black and blue smoke, So afterwards this we brought the car back to Fairway Motors on Jan 13 2012 and they said they would fix the problem. We told them that a friend of ours said to have them check the valve stems and so Fairway did and said that they were going to change the valve stems and that it would take about 17 hour or two days to fix the car and should be good as new. Now that was on Jan 13 2012 When they put the car into their shop to fix and change the valve stems. On Jan 27 2012 and went up to Fairway to check on the status of the car and my wife video the whole conversation with another mechanic in the shop and said that they needed a special tool to pull the valve stems out and they went that day to get one. Now they have had our car in the shop since Jan 13 2012 two weeks already and they are just now getting the tool to pull the valve stems okay.Brent told me that the car should be ready in a day or so. Well they called my wife up on Feb 7 2012 and told her that her car was fixed and that she could pick it up and that they had drove and test drived it and that the car was ready. So my wife went to pick the car up Her and my 4 year old baby daughter and she pulled out of Fairway Motors driveway and drove about 3 miles out and the engine light came on and smoke started billowing out from under the hood. So she called the mechanic up and he said to bring it back. Guess what Here it is Feb 13 2012 and Fairway Motors still has the car in the shop. Fairway let my wife use a loaner car but even this one they let us use the brakes are grinding metal to metal and left headlight is out and the other night my wife got a warning ticket from Texas State Trooper for the licence plate light being out. Luckly he did not see the headlight out also. We have asked the Owner Joe Bolton to please just give us our money back because they sold our 2004 Expedition two days later after we traded it in and Mr. Bolton said that under no circunstance would we get our money back. We have already paid our January car note with the Finance Co. and February payment will be made this Friday on the 11th and we still have not got our vehicle out of the shop from them. You please tell me where is the justice in this. Fairway needs to change their name from Fairway Motors to RipYouOff Motors.I have now lost $4500.00 and stuck without a vehicle. What do i do now? More
