I had been looking for a MB-SLK-Class with a manual transmission for several months. Fairfax Motors had one on the lot at a very competitive price, so I gave them a call. My sales rep Pauline Bell was professional, helpful, and friendly in her approach. John Fleming - GSM - was also helpful in Pauline's absents. In fact John took care of a few maintenance items that I identified cost free to me. Fairfax Motors has changed my perception of used car lots, I don't know about others but Fairfax Motors is a reputable customer friendly dealer. More

HORRIBLE Experience Buyer BEWARE – If honesty, Integrity and faith you will be treated fairly, are important; DO NOT BUY from Fairfax Motors. After negotiating and agree Buyer BEWARE – If honesty, Integrity and faith you will be treated fairly, are important; DO NOT BUY from Fairfax Motors. After negotiating and agreeing upon a price for my vehicle and faxing the necessary documents. I was told, the OWNER(?), Andy decided he would not honor the price. I would now be required to pay $1,000 more than the negotiated price, if I still wanted the vehicle, (bait and switch to the extreme)? Mind you this is after verbal, text and email communication, agreeing to our price (I still have them all). After speaking with the General Manager, John Fleming, who could not have been more callus over the change. I asked if I could speak with Andy to discuss. I was told I would receive a call back from him, yet never did, even after many repeated attempts. Because this car, was what I was looking for and was a special purchase, I continued forward with the deal. As if they were doing me a favor, they offered to reduce the price “increase” to a mere $750, instead of the $1,000 over the previously agreed upon price…? We set up a time when I would pick-up the vehicle and I was told it was all set and ready to go. Living an hour and half from the dealership, my experience only got worse when I arrived to find there was a “check engine light” on, the 4-wheel drive did not engage and there was no antifreeze in the coolant recovery tank. This is how they “thoroughly inspect” to ensure quality control and satisfaction?? I lost a day’s work, having to leave without the vehicle, only to return after repairs were said to made. When I returned, I again asked to see the owner(?) Andy, to discuss why he pulled the original deal. While he was there on premise, ANDY was to spineless and cowardly to face me. While I was there, another customer came in for a test drive and the battery was dead in that car and she was unable… Since owning the vehicle, another service light went off on the dash. I called to have it looked at and serviced under the terms of the warranty, if applicable. From researching the issue, it seems to be a common issue with this model and fixable, by re-flashing the cars PCM (computer). I asked, if that’s all it was and since that’s what was performed before I took possession, would they do it as part of the warranty. I was told yes, they would. When we took the vehicle back (another hour and a half from home), “WE” were instructed to drive the vehicle ourselves to a local Sunoco gas station, for diagnoses and repairs? When I spoke to the Service tech from the Sunoco, he informed me that the PCM did indeed need to be re-flashed but he was not able, as only a dealership has the equipment... Again, this was a known fact when I brought it back and still they did not take it to the dealership as discussed for the correct repairs. Though when I questioned John, he had the gall, to tell me, if I wanted a dealership to perform the work, I would have to pay for it. Another LIE from John, to what has been the most exasperating and un-professional experience, I’ve ever encountered. At the end of the day, the choice was mine to purchase the vehicle, but I did so wanting to believe what I was being told was fact and the deal would be both fair and honest. Nothing about this experience has been about honor, integrity or caring at all about taking care of the customer.
