In actual fact, this car had severe structural damage which was identified at the auction where it was purchased by Exclusive Impex, Inc. Anyone bidding on this vehicle at the auction would have been made aware of this. Exclusive Impex, Inc. would have known the extent of this damage. Clearly, the CARFAX report was wrong! Exclusive Impex, Inc. chose to present this car for sale with the condition described in the CARFAX report, knowing it was inaccurate. They chose to mislead potential buyers of this car regarding its actual condition. This behavior is clearly unethical and probably illegal. I recognize that I purchased the car AS IS, meaning as presented. However, the vehicle was not presented with all the information available to Exclusive Impex, Inc, which chose to use the CARFAX report in a way that hid the serious structural damage the car had sustained previously. As I have subsequently learned, this is a common practice used by dealers to increase their profits by taking advantage Exclusive Impex, Inc in September of 2022. I’m nearly 79 years old, but thought I could do much of the work on this car myself. Two full thickness rotator cuff tears in my right shoulder have made this unrealistic. Once I accepted my limitations, I decided to sell the car. I listed the vehicle for sale a few months ago. A gentleman came to see and drive it and brought to my attention the inaccuracy of the CARFAX report, as documented in a report from Experian. It’s certain that this car sold at auction at a very low price after the damage was identified for those bidding on the car. I wrote to the owner of Executive Impex, Inc. and requested full disclosure of the damages as well as a partial refund of the purchase price. There has been no response, thus far. I am posting this review to call attention to the unethical and likely illegal behavior of this used car dealership and to alert the unwary to the practice of using inaccurate CARFAX reports to mislead buyers into the purchase of vehicles which are presented as undamaged, but which have sustained severe structural damage.
