Steer clear of this dealer If you care about your car and expect it returned to in the same condition you dropped it off you will be sorely disappointed, I know I was. I dro If you care about your car and expect it returned to in the same condition you dropped it off you will be sorely disappointed, I know I was. I dropped my 335i off for two new tires and the used car sales manager - David Nixon - informed me his wheel guy owed him a favor for some work he had been sending his way lately and offered to refurb the front two wheels free of charge. Too good to be true? Turns out it was. When I went to pick up my car it was sitting outside with the doors unlocked, convenient for me to drop off my brief case before going in but incredibly stupid. So lets call that strike one. When I went to get back in the car I notice that the door sill and kick plate looks like someone had dragged dirty boots across its about 100x leaving permanent scratches to both the paint and plastic. The floor was also dirty but that is easily fixed with a quick cleaning of the floor mat. the wood on the center console was scratched and covered in a fine dust probably from the wheel paint / refurbishment. The radio had been messed with and finally it looks like someone had a drink in the cup holder and spilled on the center console. Lets bundle that all up and call it strike two. I pointed it out these issues to the service advisor - Linda Cramer - who in her defense apologized and offered to have it cleaned up. They were ablo to clean up the car to a certain point.... the dust and dirt were gone but the scratching and damage is permanent. When I got home I took a closer look all around the car and found that at some point in the day someone had scratched and nicked the drives door edge in two places and was a new door ding. lets call that strike three. Overall the response and accountability shown by BMW of Des Moines is the worst I have ever experienced. My car received more damage in one day then it has in the previous 3+ years. Its a shame because I truly love my car but cant hardly stomach the thought of ever having to return there for service again in the future. More
Wow! The BEST experience I have ever had at a dealership from the moment I walked in the door. Connor displayed excellent "people" skills AND had a thorough knowledge of the vehicle I was interested in. N from the moment I walked in the door. Connor displayed excellent "people" skills AND had a thorough knowledge of the vehicle I was interested in. Normally, I dread the process of getting a new vehicle however, it was refreshing to walk in to this dealership and be treated so well. Connor took the time to go over the bells and whistles of the car and show me how they worked. Connor made my decision to purchase the vehicle very easy. When it was time to get my car, he came to my work and picked me up! Connor also took the time to set my cell phone up for the Bluetooth feature in the car and offered to come to my house to set up the garage door. He has even taken the time to call me and check in to see how I am doing with the car. I expect good service but, I am always surprised when I receive GREAT service! I have received GREAT service! I appreciate the quality of service I have received from Connor and European Motorcars and I am looking forward to a great relationship. Thank you. Bryan K. Crowder More
I am not here to bash this dealer, but I will just tell you what happened to me. I purchased a Certified X5 from this dealer that I located on BMWusa.com web site. I said to Josh Hull the salesman “before you what happened to me. I purchased a Certified X5 from this dealer that I located on BMWusa.com web site. I said to Josh Hull the salesman “before I agree to this deal I want you to do a complete walk around the vehicle and tell me if there are any issues that I would need to know before I travel there”. Josh called me back and said “I walked around and everything looks great”. I agreed and made flight arrangements that week. When I arrived the CPO was filthy from the headliner to the carpet. Josh said “we can send it back to detail if you like”. Maybe that should have been done during the Certification process and certainly before I arrived. Next I see a cracked wood trim and gouges in the center console vinyl. The lower front bumper grill was separated from the bumper. This is certainly not Certified BMW standards as stated in the 168 point check list from BMW. I will not sugar coat this. I was lied to by the salesman when he said everything looks great. Sales manager Edward Collinet said “I have personally inspected the vehicle and although I agree it may need additional cleaning I find it meets if not exceeds all the standards set by BMW ‘s CPO program”. I ended up fly out of Des Moines a few hours later. I tried for two days to get reimbursed for my airfares with no luck. I would never recommend this dealership as per my experience. I contacted BMW USA to resolve my issues and they called the dealer two times but I was not reimbursed. I called the dealers cooperate office Lithia and they also called the dealer. When Lithia corporate called me back she said Edward Collinett said he had no legal obligation to refund my expenses, basically accepting no responsibility for their shady business practices. Service department needs work. I've been here several times for service on my BMW 525i. Once tried to make an service appt. using their online form. No one in the service department got the message. Also times for service on my BMW 525i. Once tried to make an service appt. using their online form. No one in the service department got the message. Also, they are not happy about giving you a loaner car, in spite of the fact that some of their customers travel over 100 miles for service. Once they gave me a bombed out Audi A6 Avant with a flat rear tire as a loaner. The next time they gave me the crappiest Land Rover I've ever seen. My son was with me, and his comment upon getting in the Land Rover was "what a piece of junk." It doesn't make a good impression and I will never attempt to buy a car here, because their service is so poor. I live 100 miles north of this dealership, and it's just as easy for me to take my BMW to Minneapolis for service, which I will do in the future. Unfortunately, folks who live in central Iowa don't have any other choice and are screwed. More
Arranged purchase of ML350 with trade-in of existing SUV. While waiting for delivery, dealership forced me into reducing trade-in value of my SUV by $500.
