Typical rip women off service center Classic try and screw women over service center! Unless you need to go to them for a recall, stay far away from them! Lied saying I needed $1,000 worth of brakes, which I already knew I didn't. I took the car to another garage and another car expert and it was confirmed, i didn't need them. They still charged me the inspection fee. This place is a real rip off and women should def stay away. I'll be sure to spread the word on how they try and take advantage of women. STAY FAR AWAY!! Look elsewhere for sales or service I purchased my first Subaru from Ertle many years ago. I know Ertle's poor reputation, the only reason I purchased from Ertle was a friend of the fam I purchased my first Subaru from Ertle many years ago. I know Ertle's poor reputation, the only reason I purchased from Ertle was a friend of the family was a salesman there. A few years later, I needed a minor repair that was covered under warranty, so I reluctantly took it to Ertle (the only dealership within a half hr of stroudsburg). After picking up my car, I was only a few miles away when my wheel nearly came off. Something was not connected properly(forgive me, I'm not a mechanic), causing my wheel to come out from the car and hang on at about a 45 degree angle from the road, rather than perpendicular. Also, the wheel was completely rolled back in the wheel well, causing minor body damage to my car. I quickly called the dealership (which I had left only minutes ago), and told them I needed a tow back to the dealership. The lady at the service desk had the nerve to ask me if I had AAA or another way to find a tow. Eventually I spoke to the service manager and he sent a tow truck. The next day, when I went to pick up my car (for the second time), they handed me a bill. They actually tried to charge me for the tow and the repairs due to the damage their poor initial repair had caused. Things actually got a bit heated between me and the service manager, to the point where Jim Ertle intervened. He told me to take my car at no charge, and he would speak to his service manager and get back to me if I owed something. An hour later he called me and was very apologetic, but I'll never deal with them again. I'm in the market for a new Subaru again, and I stopped into Ertle just to get some questions answered. The saleslady I spoke with promised to send me an email answering my questions, but it's been weeks now with no response. I have no idea how this place is still in business. Avoid. More

I have been to Ertle 5 times to get this repaired and once again they failed to identify and repair the problem. I am taking the vehicle to a different Subaru dealership for repair. I will NEVER have any work done by this "service" department again.standing and I On the brighter side, Tom Nottle in the sales department at Ertle is outstanding and a total pleasure to work with. I will definitely buy my next Subaru from him. Richard Adams hc67@ptd.net More
good experience Called to request information on a head gasket repair. Spoke to James who was very helpful so I scheduled the service. While car was in James called Called to request information on a head gasket repair. Spoke to James who was very helpful so I scheduled the service. While car was in James called about additional work that was needed (which I expected from a dealership) but no pressure to have it done. The work took a day longer than they said it would and I was given a discount to compensate for the extra time. I probably won't take my car there for routine maintenance because of the distance, but I would definitely use them for bigger repairs. More
Suggested repair was not true I brought my Subaru into Ertle for an oil change and battery replacement. The repair bill came back with recommended repair of Left head gasket leakin I brought my Subaru into Ertle for an oil change and battery replacement. The repair bill came back with recommended repair of Left head gasket leaking coolant--coolant odor. I thought it was strange wording it like that, leaking coolant--coolant odor. Hey if you see a leak, there is no reason for coolant odor. They wanted big bucks to replace head gasket. I went to my mechanic, very honest, and he said coolant is leaking from water pump, not from head gasket. Well. I saved lots of money for one thing. I called Ertle and spoke with Kathy Amer and told her what my mechanic said. She said a service manager would call me back, so far that hasn't happened. Anyway, I would never buy a car from them because I don't trust their mechanics. More

Customer service is horrible. I purchased a 2013 Legacy in 2013. Recently I brought the car in for routine service (oil change). To my surprise the service receptionist comes to I purchased a 2013 Legacy in 2013. Recently I brought the car in for routine service (oil change). To my surprise the service receptionist comes to me with an estimate saying I need 4 new tires. The car has only 7200 miles on it. It is 2 years old and I am told the sidewalls on my tires have dry rot. She gave me an estimate of 2 lower quality tire models and then priced the Bridgestone tires (Original tires from Subaru) at $249.00 each. I did not go for it. I called several days later asking to speak to Jim Ertle (he assisted the salesman with the sale). He wasn't there so I left a message with his receptionist explaining my dilemma. About 1/2 hour later the service manager called. Once again I explained the problem. He remembered me and told me there was nothing he could do because there is no warranty on the tires. It appeared as if he didn't seem to care. Four tires 7200 miles on the Legacy and it is unsafe to drive with four dry rotted (sidewall) tires. I called Subaru customer service and the representative also said there is no warranty. I proceeded to tell him I would trade it in for a different brand car. The representative from Subaru was very concerned about me leaving "the product" so he contacted Bridgestone and told me to bring the car to a local dealer. That is the Firestone Auto Center in Stroudsburg. To my surprise the manager was very understanding and he pro-rated the tires (even though there is no warranty on them) and sold me 60,00 mile tires at $225.00 for all four. Ertle is horrible. No attempt to help me. They just kept saying "low mileage causes dry rot". Sure it does, but in PA? Bottom line is Subaru stepped up to the plate, Bridgestone stepped up to the plate. ERTLE LEFT ME STRANDED!!!! They will never see me nor the vehicle again. The dealer stinks and I wouldn't buy another Subaru because it seems the original tires that come with the vehicle are low grade if not basic garbage. More

Went to the reception desk and had to interrupt someone in order to get a welcome. When I expressed I was interested I a test drive and buying a vehicle I was told they would check to see if anyone was available. After 10 minutes of browsing the floor went back to the same person who told me "oh I don't think anyone is available". Meanwhile there were at least 2 workers on the floor. Again no welcome, no how may I help you or even a goodbye as I left. Everyone seemed to be at a computer or walking around. What a way to sell cars. Oh well, some other dealership will be happy to take my money. More
