I bought my second car from dealer. Went for second time there because they take the time to listen to what you have to ...price range and what I was looking for. there because they take the time to listen to what you have to ...price range and what I was looking for. More
We got a notice for a recall. The letter said to call our local dealer to set up an appointment for the repair. My husband called and made an appointment for the next morning at 8am. (This appointment was We local dealer to set up an appointment for the repair. My husband called and made an appointment for the next morning at 8am. (This appointment was Wednesday). Upon arrival he was told it would take “most of the day” for the repair. He decided to have someone pick him up and wait nearby. At noon on Thursday he called and was told it would be 3pm but to call him back at 1:15 to make sure. So he called at 1:15 and was told it would be ready. So at 3pm he went to pick the car up and the repair had not been done. So he left in a rental van and was told it would be ready the next morning (Friday) around 10 or 11am. On Friday morning he went to pick up the car and it still wasn’t ready. Apparently they were waiting on a part or some excuse. At this point, he told them to detail the car while they had it bc this was a huge inconvenience . They said “no problem!” The guy told my husband it would be ready that afternoon. He told the guy that he could not come back until the following Tuesday. The man said that was fine and that the car would be ready but he understood we had other plans. On Tuesday, I called to make sure the car was ready and that it had also been cleaned. He said they had cleaned the outside and was working on the inside right now. I arrived at 3pm on Tuesday afternoon and the car had n not been cleaned on the outside or the inside. He had them take the car back around and said he would take care of it. I had other obligations and had to leave again. He said it would be ready for me on Wednesday. I told him I couldn’t come back until Thursday. He said that was fine. On Thursday afternoon my husband called the same man we’d be dealing with (Wayne) and asked him if the car was ready. He said yes. My husband asked him if he had laid eyes on the car. He said he would go look at it and call him back. He called back 20 mins later and said they hadn’t done a good job on the inside and that he was having them redo the inside. We told him we couldn’t wait and that we would have to get it on Friday. Today, Friday, 9 days later my husband called to see if the car was ready at 4pm and he was told it would be ready in an hour. Called back at 5pm and they say it’s ready. Went to get the car and it’s barely been cleaned. We waited for Wayne to come outside for 20 mins. He tells us that they don’t do detailing and that was the best they could do. More
Beware - read all their reviews On Saturday 12/1 I went to Ernest Mcarty Quick Lube to have rear brakes/rotors put on my van, my sole source of income (I sat there 5 hours for them On Saturday 12/1 I went to Ernest Mcarty Quick Lube to have rear brakes/rotors put on my van, my sole source of income (I sat there 5 hours for them to put rear brakes on) I went home, then next day I drove the van Monday 12/3 it was making a squeaking sound and could smell brakes, I called Vincent (service writer) he said bring it by to look at (I was in Hoover), as I headed that way on I-65 it locked up for a split second then was shaking like crazy (I almost wrecked getting off to the side of the freeway), I feel it was seconds from entire axle/wheels coming off or catching fire, I had it towed to their shop. Next day Tuesday 12/4 they (Ernest Mcarty Quick Lube) said it was their fault and they would make it good, Bonnie (service mgr) said it needed entire rear assembly (but they couldn’t locate one) but they had a guy that could refab and fix it so I would be out by Friday 12/7 (I ended getting it out on Wednesday 12/12 during this time I checked and there was plenty of rear assembly’s available on 12/4), next morning Thursday 12/13 driving to Hoover same axle locked up again (had it towed to their shop), on Friday 12/14 Bonnie said they would order a new rear assembly “emergency ship” on Monday 12/17 that it would be there by Wednesday 12/19 at latest (it arrived per Bonnie on Saturday 12/22), I got van back Sunday 12/23 I spoke with Lee Mcarty on Friday 12/21 (about reimbursement of my 23 days of lost income), he assured me he didn’t do business like this and he would get with me and work out a settlement of my lost income (it’s now 1/6/2019 and I have not heard from him even after calling) SO, I guess in fact this is how they do business (especially after reading their google/Facebook reviews, wish I had read them first😬) I encourage everyone to read their reviews before visiting them!!! I own a commercial transportation company with 8 Fords in my fleet. I can't begin to tell you how horrible and incompetent Earnest McCarty's service department is. Took my Transit van in for the 2nd time (same issue with AC not blowing cold) for it to sit on their lot for 3 days before they touch it, only to be told the problem was "fixed". Dropped it off Tues morning @ 6:30am. Didn't speak to anyone unless I called to check on the vehicle. No one ever returned my phone calls when I left messages to find out the status. On Friday my mgr & I drove up to the dealership to find out what was going on with the vehicle. We put the thermometer in the vent to find the car wouldn't cool lower than 62 degrees. But we were told it was "fixed". At this point I have gotten the GM Chris & Owner Lee involved in hopes the problem would get resolved. When we returned to p/u the vehicle on Saturday my stick thermometer would only go to 60-62 degrees up front. Left the vehicle there. Monday rolls around and I get a call saying the van is cooling @ 44 degrees. I call and speak with Scott in service explaining to him not to waste my time coming up there if it wasn't fixed. I'm then transferred to Brian the "service manager". I explain my situation with him and the comment out of his mouth is "at this time neither of us are making any $$ in this situation". Come Monday the GM nor Lee were available. Picked up the vehicle to take to another dealer. This organization could certainly benefit from some customer service/communication training from the top down. I feel like I've been dealt a fresh turd from Ford and this dealership. This isn't the first time I've dealt with BS from this organization. Their porter damaged my last F550 bus I had with them. Was told the dealership would take care of my damage. 2 months later their body shop dropped the ball. Ended up having to take it to Transportation South's body shop and send them the bill. Even looking past the 1st experience with the damage done by the porter I gave them a 2nd chance to make it right. I'll never step foot back in the place for anything. You've been warned in advance.
