11/21/24 Purchase Date As all dealership goes, it seems even when you get a good deal, they still squeeze more money out of you. I had papers of what the OTD cost would have been for my GHH before my seems even when you get a good deal, they still squeeze more money out of you. I had papers of what the OTD cost would have been for my GHH before my deposit. Even on paper it said $0 deposit so when Andy Vo asked for my credit card to put towards my vehicle I made note to remember that it would be deducted from the OTD price as well as verified with him that it would be deducted once I come back to pick it up. It was $500 plus a stupid 3% credit charge so $515. I had already sold my other vehicle and this one was going to be for my growing family as my daughter was just born only a couple of months ago. It was a spot where leaving without a car would have made my life already that much more difficult as I also was moving. Biggest advice when putting down a deposit is to make sure to record it on your phone to have verbal and visual verification. Disappointed with Andy Vo as it felt like he scammed me out of $500 (for some that may not seem like a lot, but it's the principle). He did not even offer a remedy or maintenance courtesy to honor what was on paper and responded with, "I can't remember exactly what was said..." I had to push to have at least 2 free oil changes when he only offered 1 after my 2 year warranty. UPDATE 11.22/24 Just received a phone call in the morning from Andy Vo telling me how upset he was about my yelp review and how I didn't write out the whole truth. To be honest, writing out more honest detail would make it look worse and furthermore, calling me to say how it makes him and the company look bad is strange to me, especially for me as a customer feeling baited and switched. It just made things worse on his end because I have paperwork to prove his error. The main issue that did not make sense was when I first came in was that he had a copy of my license, he processed my credit score and I told one of the employees named Sam that I'm actually renting in a different location apart from the address on my license. Tax was 1% lower where I was renting and I asked if I can use that address. Sam checked in with Andy and was told that if I can prove my residence there (such as bank statement or bill) they can do it. So I emailed an electric bill and they said that was good. The day I pick up my vehicle Andy tells me that my credit shows the address on my license and that is what has to be used, which basically that 1% turns into the $500 increase and which is where my deposit was applied. If the rental address I was currently residing was not allowed then WHY WAS IT APPROVED? He has too much pride to admit the error and instead of looking at the facts that was on paper he deviates on how he recalculated the paperwork to make it fit and to address it is what it is. His phone call only sounded to attempt intimidation rather than respectful. More

Carla Aristizabal is the best. She went out of her way to get me the best deal possible, and she got it done. I’m so happy and excited for my new 2025 Toyota Camry SE. Worst car buying experience ever. Worth a single star because we were able to get our money back (eventually... took 6 days after we returned car). We purchased close to same car at a Worth a single star because we were able to get our money back (eventually... took 6 days after we returned car). We purchased close to same car at another dealer and the buying experience was 180 degrees different. Issues: (1) Purchase price changed. We confirmed before test drive that online price would be honored (sticker price was higher). After we decided to buy, were told the car was $2,000 higher than online price quoted, due to a mandatory Zurich Shield coating and associated warranty. When we balked, salesman said price was negotiable with his manager. After some wait, were told all cars required purchase of this coating / warranty, but he could give us a 50% discount... so we agreed to adjusted price. When we got home and read contract we had signed digitally (never saw this clause in the process of buying the car, see below), we read: “Purchase of this product [Zurich Shield] is not required as a condition to obtain financing or to purchase or lease your vehicle.” We understand this is a common dealer add-on that requires negotiation... our issue with Norwalk was that we were told we had to buy the warranty, while the legal disclosure said we didn’t, and cost wasn’t disclosed until we had decided to buy the car. (2) Took ages to complete the purchase (3.5+ hours after test drive / decision to buy). Our finance person must have left the room half a dozen times at least while we were left just sitting there waiting for his return (nothing to review), for 10+ minutes at a time. Only one other set of customers with lots of staff standing around. (3) Finance process designed to obfuscate details. Everything is done on a tablet, with all signatures done digitally. Representative spoke very fast and scrolled through the pages quickly, saying “just sign here, here”, etc. We never saw the disclosure about the Zurich plan being optional. In contrast, at the dealer we ultimately purchased from, there was no tablet used or electronic signing required – we could read everything on paper, there were only a few pages to review, and again, the process was relatively quick (the finance rep never left the room). (4) $500 charge added without explanation. We noticed a charge that we didn’t recognize (separate from the $995 for the Zurich thing); when we questioned this, we were told that the charge was already included in the quoted price of the car. When we challenged this, he agreed to remove it. (5) Most importantly (although somewhat unique to our situation), the car was represented to us as being “Toyota Certified” (with the salesperson explaining the warranty benefits associated with buying a Certified car while we were doing the test drive). We questioned this several times throughout the process, because we had been told at another dealer that most 2023 Highlanders were subject to a recall associated with a front bumper safety issue. (That dealer was clear that used cars subject to the recall could not be sold as Certified.) We were assured multiple times by different members of staff that the car was being sold to us as Certified. A couple hours later, we were told (in essence), “Oops, we were wrong… this car is subject to a recall and we can’t sell it as Certified. But we will promise in writing to re-certify the car after the recall fix becomes available." (Toyota hadn’t come up with a remedy at the time). Thoroughly exhausted at this point, we decide it’s OK to buy the car with the written promise. We later complained about our buying experience and asked for refund of the Zurich thing. They offered full refund for return of car instead. We accepted as we didn’t trust that they would follow through on their promise to certify the car once the recall remedy was available, which they said could take months or years or maybe never happen. (Remedy became available about 4 months later.) More
