I recently bought a car from this dealership and unfortunately, I have very little good to say. The sales associate, Adam Tapler, was by far the best salesman I have ever seen and I would urge anyone who is looking for a car to come visit this man. But that's about where the good ends with this dealership. The car I bought was a 2007 with 80k miles on it. This was my first time buying a car and unfortunately, I didn't know what I was doing. I was told the car was $15000, and my trade in was worth $500. Later, when I went in to pay for the car, I was told I was given extra for my trade in and the price of the car was lowered to $12600. Later I checked the blue book value, $12500. I brought the car in for a tire pressure sensor and I ended up talking to both Adam and the owner of the dealership. I told him my air conditioner wasn't working and Adam looks me dead in the eye and says "that's bull sh*t I'm not selling you a car that the air conditioner doesn't work in." I talked with Adam and the owner a little more and they agreed to fix the sensor, put in a new plastic piece covering the speedometer, and fix my air conditioning. They have to order some parts so I drive it around for 2 more days and bring it back. That's when my clutch went out. I bring it back in, they have my car for 4 days, and after multiple phone conversations, I ended up with the General Sales Manager, and this is where things get bad. Up to this point I have been very impressed with how the dealership has conducted its business. So the GSM calls me and says you need a new clutch, we will pay half and it will cost you $900, to which I responded "I don't have $900." So he wants to know how much money I do have. I told him $500 and he said ok we will fix your clutch for $500 and you will need to cover the cost of the AC. He said it might be as simple as a switch, but we aren't sure. That night I went to the dealership to discuss that I was a little upset, I talked with both Adam and the New Car Sales Manager and we agreed that I would pay for the part for the clutch, they would cover the labor, and my air conditioner would be fixed and I wouldn't have to pay for it. Another WEEK goes by before I hear from anyone, the news: the clutch will cost me $500 and they want me to pay $600 to fix the air conditioner. At this point, I'm furious. I go in the talk to the owner, I called 10 minutes before I got there to make sure he was there, and he was. I arrive and the owner isn't there. So I talked to the GSM. This is a brief overview of the conversation: I tell him I'm upset about things. He looks at me confused and says, why? To which I responded, I just bought this car and now you want me to pay $1100? He responds with do you have any idea how much money out of my own pocket I have spent? Those repairs would have cost you over $3000 and I am covering all but $500 of it. Plus you needed a brand new flywheel which you burnt out. I said "I had the car for 2 days how could I have done that?" According to him, those parts go out real quick. He then proceeds to tell me that I am taking advantage of him, and he calls me a liar. At this point I said bring me the bill. We are done. So I paid the $500 for the clutch; and the air conditioner, after a week and a half, STILL WASN'T FIXED. The next day I called Adam, who'd been on vacation, and explained how upset I was. He immediately went straight to the owner. They agreed that I would bring the car in, have the AC fixed, and when I had the money, I could pay back the owner $250. When I go to pick up the car, the mechanic says ok it looks like you owe us $250 and the owner is covering the rest. I said did he mention anything about me being able to pay it back? And the guy says nope. And at this point, I just want my car back. I don't have the money but I have a credit card. I am done haggling. Here is a list of a few of the problems with my car and how much they ended up costing me after haggling with the dealership for almost 2 weeks, while my car was in their shop: Clutch: $500, Air Conditioning: $250, alignment: included with purchase, new tires: dealership refused to put them on still haven't gotten any, new heatshield: included with purchase (but they didn't fix the rattling problem and I will need a new exhaust), tire pressure sensor: reset (immediately turned back on when I drove off) needs a brand new sensor, skid plate cracked: still needs to be repaired. Plastic piece covering speedometer, oil gauge and g-force gauge need to be replaced: replaced speedometer, still need oil and g-force replaced. I have driven my car for approximately 2 weeks and already, these are all the problems I have found. I will never return to Empire Nissan and would advise everyone to steer clear, but, in the event that you do visit, please look up Adam Tapler. I honestly believe he did everything in his power to make things right. Unfortunately, he just doesn't have alot of power. More
I would never buy a new car at this dealership. The car had a few issues and I call Nissan Corporate to get them worked out after the mechanics messed up a component to the car. The dealership lied about r had a few issues and I call Nissan Corporate to get them worked out after the mechanics messed up a component to the car. The dealership lied about refinancing the car, because I called Nissan Corporate. They have low quality service because they are privately owned. The dealership will no longer service me because of this and Nissan Corporate called to tell me this information. Nissan Corporate said they couldn't do a thing because it was privately owned. Call Nissan Corporate and ask them the consequences from buying from a private dealership instead of a certified Nissan Dealership. Please call them before any purchase at any dealership and ensure it is operated and certified by Nissan. I wasted a lot of money and time at this establishment. I owned a variety of Makes on vehicles, but this by far was the worse experience. Please do not make the same mistake that I did and be wise, go to a big dealership that is Nissan owned (Not privately owned). I purchased here and regret it. Do NOT EVER buy a car from a private dealership if you are buying brand new. The sales at this dealership will tell you anything to cover this up and pretend this is not true. I am trading a car in that has 3200 miles on it and 3 months old because of this experience. If it weren't for my income I would be even more upset. More

No!!! Terrible service and treated terrible!! We brought out vehicle in 4 or 5 different times and they kept saying nothing was wrong with it. Finally after a month and a half they figure it out. Got it bac out vehicle in 4 or 5 different times and they kept saying nothing was wrong with it. Finally after a month and a half they figure it out. Got it back and it works much better, but all the readings on the dash board are all messed up and they wanted to charge us another 550.0" to fix it. We will NEVER buy a vehicle from them again!!! I knew I was getting screwed when I first bought it, I should have listened!! More

I went to Empire Lakewood Nissan to test drive an Xterra and a Pathfinder, thinking I wanted a Pathfinder but really in love with the Xterra. What impressed me most about Jeremy was that he never tried to u and a Pathfinder, thinking I wanted a Pathfinder but really in love with the Xterra. What impressed me most about Jeremy was that he never tried to upsell me, he truly seemed to want to help me get what I wanted, which was a midnight blue 2006 Xterra sitting on the lot that day waiting for me. While I was ready to buy that day, I wasn't really expecting to, but Jeremy and Chris made the whole process easy, painless, and amazing. I left there with a new (to me) Xterra, an unbelievable interest rate, and a totally different opinion of car dealers. Dealing with Jeff in the shop for a couple of minor glitches was just as wonderful. These guys are so genuine and awesome at what they do that I don't plan to ever buy a vehicle anywhere else. More

I am usually skeptical of dealerships but Empire Nissan in Lakewood has been so great to work with. I bought my 2008 Nissan Xterra with 14k miles from them last year and the sales process was easy, I got a great deal and the follow up service is always super professional and knowledgeable and give me competitive rates. Their finance group through Chase gave me better rates than USAA had. I love this place! But the waiting room could use a facelift :) More
I just traded my 2008 frontier in for a 2011 Xterra last week and was quite pleased with the process at Empire Nissan in Lakewood. Usually my car buying and negotiating is a bit brutal, but these guys came week and was quite pleased with the process at Empire Nissan in Lakewood. Usually my car buying and negotiating is a bit brutal, but these guys came ready to deal with a very generous above-book trade and excellent pricing via the USAA plan (try costco pricing as well). We had a deal with 30 minutes and it was better than any in the area. They noticed that I serviced my Frontier there, and went beyond the call to keep me as a long-term customer. I was pretty surprised, actually. The dealership is clean, although not in the top neighborhood (maybe that makes them hungry for business). Joshua Arteaga was straight-up, no BS, no hard sales and I would deal with him again. When I picked up the vehicle, it only took about 45 minutes, instead of the usual several hours. Pretty efficient and impressive. I usually don't write reviews, but I have to say I was very pleased with the whole experience. Check them out if you are hunting for a nissan. More
Mike Redfern was very friendly and accomodating to us when we visited Empire Lakewood Nissan on Oct. 8 & 9, 2010. He was informative on the Nissan Murano and it's capabilities and features. I ended up buying a Nissan Murano from this dealership because after researching this vehicle, test driving it and actually having a pleasant experience at a dealership, Mike sealed the deal with his outstanding salesmanship and genuinely friendly personality.
