The worst car buying experience I've ever had I purchased a vehicle from Empire Exotic Motors on April 10th, 2018. I traded in my previous vehicle as a down payment. My initial experience at the d I purchased a vehicle from Empire Exotic Motors on April 10th, 2018. I traded in my previous vehicle as a down payment. My initial experience at the dealer the day I purchased my vehicle was pleasant but everything went down hill from there. The vehicle I traded in had an outstanding loan to be paid by the dealership after they took possession of it. They put off paying this loan for over a month and a half after I purchased my vehicle from them. I had to pay the next payment on my old vehicle and have them reimburse me for it due to the dealer's negligence in paying off the loan. It got to point where I was forced to threaten them with legal action if they did not pay off the balance on my old vehicle. It also took well over two months to get my plates for my new vehicle from them. They took so long getting them to me that they had to print me a new temporary plate because the first one expired. After two weeks of them telling me that they would have the plates on this day or that day they tell me that my vehicle did not have a current inspection on file and they would have to take it to have the inspection done before they could get my plates. They waited two and a half months to find this out. I did not receive my plates from them until June 20th. On to the vehicle itself because this needs to be mentioned. Three days after purchasing the vehicle I discovered it was leaking coolant from the radiator. The leak had obviously been present for quite some time. There was no way the dealer was not aware of the issue. A shop quoted me $1200 to have it fixed because the radiator itself needs to be replaced. As the leak is not terrible I simply haven't had it fixed. I can't justify spending that kind of money on something the dealer obviously turned a blind eye to. The front end steering components were also in a dangerous state of disrepair to the point that the vehicle would change lanes by itself on the highway with no change in steering input. So I spent over $1,000 on parts and replaced the tie rods, tie rod adjusting sleeve, drag link, Pitman arm, Pitman arm adjusting sleeve, and Pitman arm tie rod myself. Included in that cost was all new ball joints that I have to have a shop install as I do not have the proper tools for the job. Just this week I spent a considerable amount of money rebuilding the front brakes after I took them apart and found no friction material left on the pads and rotors with completely stripped surfaces. I also had to replace the brake calipers and caliper mounting brackets. In total I've spent over $2,000 in repairs on a vehicle that obviously was either not checked by Empire Exotic or it was and the issues were ignored. Overall my experience with them was awful. I would not recommend buying from them if you plan to buy anything on their lot that the average working man can afford. If you're not buying a Ferrari or a McLaren you don't matter. Simple as that. More
