Jayson- We advertise all vehicles that we own between our Denver and Boulder locations. Based on the current shortage of vehicles we have a lot of vehicles that have pending deposits. We do not pull these vehicles off until they are actually sold and delivered. Most of these vehicles are sold to the person holding the deposit but sometimes they cancel and the vehicle comes available. Our team is always able to answer availability questions by phone, text, email, or in-person.

Okay just listen to your response. Take a deposit for a vehicle that a customer intends to buy and then still advertise it for sale. Definitely sounds deceptive as to the vehicles current availability. Perhaps your management might want to think about putting a pending sale message on the vehicle that a customer puts a deposit on. There is great plethora of dealer inventory software that can help your organization with this process. Other dealerships do this when a deposit is received or a sale is in the process. Carvana does this all the time. If you are a dealership that is trying to foster a good relationship among consumers then you shouldn’t advertise vehicles that you don’t actually have. It’s pure deception in the simplest of forms.
